i dunno. it depends. when i had my girl, we weren't officially "us"..but we were together all the time, and we liked each other. sometimes it was annoying when we had to contact each other every damn hour, and then many times it was great to have her around because she's funny and she likes eating, etc. she has a great smile, a good kisser~

Casual : These are the best ones. They call when they want to and can be dumped with little to no investment loss.

Dedicated : You meet for lunch alot, have dinner alot and stay over at each others place alot. This can be good or bad depending on the girl. At this stage you still have your freedom ( mostly )

Serious : This is the GF who will reprimand you for going out with friends even though she didnt have anything planned with you that night. She will call you when you are out with friends repeatedly to make sure you arent sleeping with another women. This is also refered to as the "run like hell" phase.

Live in : This is the worst type of GF. You might as well be married and you might as well hand over your testicles and car keys and beer money. Unless you do all of the above you will be so miserable in life that if you somehow manage to NOT kill yourself you will wish that you had.

Having a GF is like being miserable and alone but with less freedom and less money able to be allocated to FUN activities. You are also responsible for buying gifts and "caring" on occasion. The amount of BS you have to front in order to not hear any nagging is vomit inducing.

Trust me, it's very overrated. Wait for a girl that you genuinely care about. Otherwise it's a waste of time, effort, and money. I've had several girlfriends and I never cared about any of them. All they did was spend my money, call me, and talk about things that are completely pointless. Real best friends are better because you don't owe them anything and the relationship that stems from that is more genuine. And it's not permanent either. It only gets decent when she starts to put out, and that's pretty much all the relationship's worth to me.

What is your definition of a successful relationship? Mine would be one where i wasnt TOTALLY ******* miserable day in and day out.

Yeah i could just leave...and be happier but it really isnt that simple. I screwed up and got tied down to someone finance wise. I couldnt leave now without her completely destroying my credit score.

And i did have a really good relationship that got messed up ( my fault totally ) and i have since ( 10 years later ) been unable to care about another person. A lapse in judgement is the only reason im in one right now.

I am just gonna take a shot and guess that the pessimists in this topic are those who cared about sex more than anything when looking for a GF.

It amazes me how many relationships people get in. The immaturity is ridiculous. I find I am one of the few who are actually waiting to find someone worthwhile who I will hopefully be able to have a happy life with, not just someone to ****.

Remember, sex is just the icing on the cake. You will spend so much more time doing other things.....

It really all comes down to the point where you move in with each other. If you do this before you are ready it will ruin your life forever and set the relationship on a downward spiral towards a fiery and painful death.

Dont make stupid decisions and make sure to leave bad relationships before you are tied down.

Dont be like me. Dont become a scorned, cold, hate filled, negative, 1/2 empty kind of person because you didnt play your cards right. I'll never be able to happy with someone ever again. I cant be saved....just dont make the same mistake i did.

I am sure you can be saved, it will just take lots of hard work.

I myself have my own obstacle to overcome if I am ever to get into a relationship and thats an anxiety problem....

I have a hard time showing my feelings for people, and even then if I don't hear from someone for a little I start to think they are ignoring me.....

My logic is thankfully saving me from being completely crazy, but the anxiety still makes life difficult.
