If it weren't for my family I might not even be getting the education I'm currently pursuing. I really owe a lot to them and they will always be the most important thing in my life. However, that doesn't mean being successful in a more career-oriented manner takes a backseat :P
What a strange question. Why did you decide that these 2 things were somehow mutually exclusive or in conflict?thegerg
My thoughts exactly.
What a strange question. Why did you decide that these 2 things were somehow mutually exclusive or in conflict?thegergBecause I'm asking people to see which one of the two are more important in terms of something that's more valuable for them. Anyways, what does conflict have to do with this simple question?
Family can be taken away, knowledge cannot.sSubZerOoSo if someone asked you which pet you wanted: a dog or a rock. You would pick the rock, because hey, the dog could die, right?

Knowledge can be taken away, brain injury, mental sickness, and whose going to change your diapers if any of these things happen to you, you're family. Remember that everything can be taken away even knowledge.

I don't think I'd want to live and have a family caring for me if I needed my diapers changed...

I'll stick with money: with money, you can hand-pick your own family AND afford a decent education. Win/win.

Maybe to some, not to me because I don't think a rock is as important as a dog... Certainly the rock would make a good door stop. :P

Hand pick your own family, Hahahaha!!! For some reason I found that pretty funny.
[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"]Family can be taken away, knowledge cannot.senses_fail_06So if someone asked you which pet you wanted: a dog or a rock. You would pick the rock, because hey, the dog could die, right? Bad analogy. A rock is practically worthless and has almost no utility. It's also so common that you would gain pretty much nothing from such a decision. A good education on the other hand is an opportunity that most people don't even get a chance at having, and one that can improve your quality of life and future outlook greatly.
