They are nothing new or interesting. The best teen comedies are movies like Animal house, dazed and confused and fast times at ridgemont high, not american pie. Am I missing something, is there some reason why american pie is mentioned more than those classics?
The only point to those movies is that they make a lot of money reletive to the cheap production cost, and for some reason 19 year olds continue to watch them.
I haven't seen any of the AP movies, and with good reason: they're not my kind of thing. I don't like any of those kinds of movies, the "teen" movies. They suck. I'd rather see something like Die Hard. Plus, i know i'd get more enjoyment watching reruns of "Who Wants to Marry My Dad?" (you know, if any such reruns exist).
Good dirty fun. They don't try to break the mould, they just go with it. I am of course referring to the first three, not the horrendous tag-ons they insist on releasing.
the only reason i can't forget Band Camp is because it had this really really cool intro music. And the reason no one forget the american pie films as a whole is because Eugene Levy.
