I agree 100%. I'm here for the community. When I go to the reviews I click on user reviews and basically ignore the GS reviews, or go to Metacritic to get a composite score.
I like the GameSpot forums since you've also got all the individual game forums (thanks to GameFAQs). You would be surprised how many users still post on titles that are over a decade old.

This forum is decent I suppose....Too many people are obsessed about their rank though...I'm brand new and I can tell what it's gonna be like here...You have a handful of guys that post all day and the more casual people get pushed around and down to the bottom...oh well....Thanks
Best communities are ones from forums that are based on a different subject altogether. I find this forum not that great to be honest. It's kind of a hellhole of casual gamers. Best communities I've found are ones at forums for specific games such as Darkfall or Elderscrolls.

Yes there are people who post on here very often, and some who worry a bit much about their rank, but new people can make their "mark" very quickly, you know who you are. If you've got a good idea or thought on something your post # doesn't matter one bit to 95% of us. Stick around a while.

Me too, I was rereading some reviews last night from 98-02 or so and the difference was glaring. 2 games I've enjoyed the most in recent months I tried because of user reviews, I knew the user and trusted them more than GS. :(
Yes i think this is the best. It has a huge community (the biggest i think) and lots of people post on the individual game forums which is nice. It is also very organized and looks great (i think it looked a little bit better before the redesign though..the forums i mean).
I know what you mean...Sometimes moderators in these types of forum settings start thinking they are pretty special and don't like it when people criticize anything they have to say...So you're constantly using the backspace key because you don't get a lot of freedom to discuss things openly....It gets to be a favoritism kind of thing....tsk tsk...Maybe I'll jump over to some of the other forums in GS because it appears as though it's bit too "stuffy" in here....
