wait I change my mind, I completely forgot about Snow Summit in the San Bernardino mountains. Its a little over 8,000 ft. on its top elevation.
My answer is Pike's Peak, and I'm from the northeast. :oYou can tell all the mid-westerners and folks in the north east in this thread when the highest they've been in is a building. :P

South Rim is over 7,000 ft. and North Rim is around 8k, I think.
Highest I've been is about 13, 250 on Mauna Loa in Hawaii.
I am surprised I am the only one who apparently read this and though it meant what it actually meant, probably because I know how rabid the rules are when discussing the other meaning. Oh well.
Highest mountain I have been up would be Snowdon I think, and the tallest buildings would be the ones in New York, The Empire State Building in 2004 and the North Tower (I think) of the World Trade Centre back in 1995.
On a kinda related note I'm heading back to Amsterdam in less than a week and good God I'm gonna... go to the very top floor of my hotel :P
Took a hot air balloon up once... Convinced the guy running it to take us up past 4,000 feet... Damn that was high...
I flew over Mount Everest once with a flock of birds. I was very high at the time.
In real life though, I've been to quite a few mountain peaks in Colorado, don't remember the names.
