This song is the longest one I have ever heard. The song is set in seven parts and is over 1 hour. The band recorded the whole song is one go and for that I give the drummer serious props. Can anyone beat this?

The Druggie once reccomended as thick as a brick to me. It is now my duty to pass it along to you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-vXEJrU9i0
Let me know your thoughts on it, in 45 minutes.

They made 3 versions?Trapped In The Closet. If you wanna get all technical about it's 22 individual chapters, so if that doesn't count I have a live version of Freebird that's like 15 minutes.
Ahhhh...this is where I always have to dredge up a skeleton from my past.
During my more adventuresome days exploring various extreme aspects of cl@ssical music in the '80s, I picked up a copy of Sorabji's piano piece Opus Clavicemalisticum which takes about 4 hours 40 minutes to play. I've only listened to it a couple of times so it's nothing that's in my regular rotation though. Most single pieces that are of a decent length that I listen to regularly are typically bebop jazz numbers lasting 30-40 minutes.
Longest I have on my iPod is Shogun by Trivium, 11 minutes 55 seconds. If I don't like the song a lot then it's way too long.
:lol:Daaaang. And I thought Tool was bad with their 9+ minute songs.

Can't beat that I think. I've only heard of some techno or classical songs at around 12 minutes in length. This song is the longest one I have ever heard. The song is set in seven parts and is over 1 hour. The band recorded the whole song is one go and for that I give the drummer serious props. Can anyone beat this?

They made 3 versions?I don't know if you would call it a different version, but when Tull plays(ed) it live, it would be different and shorter, than the original. I have a version of it on Bursting Out Live recorded in 78 (in Europe somewhere) and then on the CD issued in 97, there is a version recorded at Madison Square Garden in 78.
Haha, I saw Sleep! They were badass! I was comming in to say Sleep.
Next longest is probably something from Godspeed! or Sigur Ros.
Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. It's 40 minutes long. I hope to change this soon to "Delirium Cordia" by Fantomas which is 74 minutes long.
Goldie - Mother: 60 minutesTheFlush
Forgot about that one. Probably the longest track in my library.
Second longest in my library would go to like...World's End Girlfriend's "All Imperfect Love Song" which clocks in at 25:35.
