I'm an apprentice chef. I been in the kitchen for 2 years.. I been in about 3 kitchens.
I havn't really seen that many nasty things besides the picking something you have droped on the floor and picking it up. I personally will never do that. Because if i did id get blasted ahaha..
But i've heard many stories from otthers about many diguisting things they have done to really stuck up annoying customers :)
I used to work in a Dairy Queen, one of the privately owned ones and the place was just nasty, food that had been on the floor for years and stuff. When cleaning the grill it was horrifying. Also where we put the ice cream made me never eat it again. Literally it is in a trash bin in the refrigirator that never gets cleaned. The misty sluch stuff had tartar built up on the bottom, and last but not least, you know those milkshakes you love....well sometimes those things are run-off ice cream that has been sitting around for hours and hours.
I took the L and M off the lemon sauce dispenser - and people STILL put it on their Mongolian barbecue! People willingly put Emo sauce into themselves!D3nnyCrane
i worked at a local arena in high school. each of the food stands had a stand leader. one of these stand leaders was notoriously "economical" with his food. he had a history of putting left over burgers in the hotdog steamer between events and then serving them to the next crowd. that was practice that stuck out, but he did other things as well.
Picking up food off the ground. The dishwashing process is just horrible(I am a dishwasher) Some soups are left outside for a bit, I have no clue why They scoop out old butter for grease but even sometimes put it on the biscuits they eat. Other then that, it is not too bad.
