You don't get as much nutritional value, and your worse off doing it anyway.
You people still use animal products anyway, and being vegetarian is a lot more healthy for you.
So what's the point?

best reason ive been hearing is cos of how terrible the food industry is.xTheExploitedThen fix the food industry.
There is more to being vegan than what you eat for some people. Some people choose to not support any animal products which goes beyond food into other industries such as the clothing industry, for example. I am choosing to eat vegan because I feel restless when I eat animal products. When it is time for bed, I feel an uncontrollable sense of discontent in my being. When I stopped eating animal products, that feeling diminished somewhat. I also do not support the food industry that is turning animals such as cows, pigs, and chickens into creatures meant to be food and nothing more. I think that is a waste. In a first world country, I can get my nutritional needs from vegan sources.
No reason, people just want to feel better about themselves and to have an excuse to act like a snob.xdude85Most probably do it to feel better about themselves.

I'm a vegetarian and I did it because it helps with my IBS symptoms. I'm also an animal lover and thought it would be a good way to live. It's been 8 months so far and it feels good. I know vegan becomes even more restrictive, but I'm speculating that it's just a personal lifestyle choice like mine.
Agreed, most vegans I know are kinda squirrely and small lol. I do have more respect for pescetarians though. Fish / Shellfish is a healthy and good source of protein without having to eat meat. I would get bored pretty fast limiting my eating habits tbh though.

Sarcasm?
Anyways, I think they do it because they find the conditions under which animal-based products are made to be inhumane. Â I mean, we wouldn't consider harvesting women's ovaraies or breast milk humane. Â Personally I think different standards apply to animals, but I could be convinced not to eat meat-based products.
As to nutrition, it's not all that hard, althogh it requires you pay more attention to your vitamin intakes. Â I'm just a regular vegetarian, but I get most of my protein from beans, quinoa, and other sources. Â
But of course, anyone who chooses a non-standard diet MUST be doing it to act morally superior. Â I mean, there's no way they could actually believe that meat or animal product consumption are wrong, right? Â No possible way, it can ONLY be explained by arrogance.

Buddhists believe plants are living beings worth the consideration humans give one another. I agree with them and I am a Christian, so I am not glutton.
