'Shadows of the Empire'. It's unfortunate that story came along so long after the original films. That could have made a hell of a movie.

God, so hard to choose. This is one of my favorites, but I'm a bigger fan of The Thrawn Trilogy.

I've never actually read the Thrawn trilogy, and I'm not sure that I ever will now. My interest in Star Wars has greatly waned at this point. I'm sure part of that is because of Lucas' raping of the franchise over the past decade or so.

It's perfectly acceptable to like the EU more than the movies at this point.

Yeah. The problem is I'm not sure if I can seperate my dislike of the films from the EU now. Might not be rational, but that's how I feel about it. Like I'm not sure if I could see the name 'Anakin Skywalker' mentioned, even if the book was written in like 1993, without "Darth Emo" popping into my head.

Might be just a tad irrational. :P I pick and choose what I like from the movies and use that when I'm reading EU books. I haven't touched any of the newer prequel books, except for The Old Republic ones.

Ohh man i know what u mean. Anakin is probably the single mOst reason i disliked epispde 2 and 3 so much. His decisions and motivations were so irrational and obnoxious. Star wars definantly lost its old appeal.Ohh man i know what u mean. Anakin is probably the single mOst reason i disliked epispde 2 and 3 so much. Anakin is your biggest criticism of the new movies? What about the affront to sanity known as Jar Jar? :P
I like most of the Star Wars books I have read. I liked the Republic Commando books, Legacy of the Force, Darth Bane (haven't read the third yet), Tales of the Bounty Hunters, the Bounty Hunter Wars books... so many great ones, it's tough to choose.

Legacy of the Force is the only series I refuse to read until they're all 7.99 paperbacks.

It's one of the best written Star Wars books out there. Plus it nicely bridges 'the Empire Strikes Back' and 'the Return of the Jedi'.

I agree, that's what I'd choose although I've only read a handful of others. Please Log In to post.
