My distatste for American society has lessened today after seeing a vid about how girls in Africa are forced into getting circumcised......

Okay. You didn't answer my question, and the answer does have significance. I ask because, while I agree there has always been corruption in society, I believe society has become remarkably more corrupt here in the US during the last century. Thus the question about how old you are. To say society has always been corrupt is partially true, but it has been such to varying degrees. I think it's important to note that some societies grow progressivley more corrupt over time, and the US is an example. Ancient Rome is an example. Ancient Greece is an example. Absolute power corrupts absolutely...

Hard luck, I know how you feel. Sometimes people just don't come across well, have bad days or whatever. No matter what happens, they can make your entire day s*** and you'll remember the incident for days afterwards.

No one enjoys that.

I don't care if I speak with someone who has none of the traditional manners, so long as he means well. But when you get nasty people, it just makes your life s***.

All through my high school days I was regarded as a bit of a nerd and people would mock me whenever I got called out to answer a question. It made me felt terrible and I nearly got into a large number of fights with people because of it. My family told me it was like that back in their day, by grandparents told me otherwise.

I don't know what is wrong with people these days. Do you think that we have just become so jaded with our complete freedom that we actually feel free enough to be nasty to each other for no valid reason? Sometimes I think its that way.

once i was going home from work and i was going down the stairs to the subway and an old lady was on top og the stairs-i asked here if she needed help with her 4-5 bags she said "NOOOO GET AWAY!!.....

another time i was lost and the first 3 people i asked directions from didnt even look at me :(

Maybe he was stalling for time? Doesn't happen to me though, maybe you look sketchy. There was a huge winter storm in Ontario on Saturday and my car got stuck in the snow so I started running to the party because I wasn't getting out and on my way there I pushed 4 cars out of the snow. I was a modern day Jesus, and everyone was happy and grateful.-R3Vo
