I enjoy oranges quite a bit but unfortunately they don't like me and tend to put my body in a spot of bother.
Red Haven peaches.
Unfortunately, they're only good for the two weeks following harvest in August - they don't keep, period. Peaches store poorly anyway, but these ones seem to be worse.
They're so juicy and sweet, and nothing beats biting into one and having the juice drip slowly down your jaw as you savour the flavour and texture. Soft, succulent, and sensual.
Anyone picking apples have a preference on variety? Galas are good, though they've sort of saturated the market by this point. Jonagold are a little better but don't see the same distribution, and the same goes for Fuji or the other less common varieties.
And I'll never understand why red and green delicious apples are still in stores in such large amounts - they're so boring.
