RadioHead because the songs are great and it's poetic and interesting. Originality is lacking and I apologize for that.

Velvet acid Christ.
He puts gothic rock, Darkwave, and industrial music into a bag and beats me over the head with it.
Pretty much anything Punk Rock and some Metal. I have way too many favorite bands to name, I cannot pick an absolute favorite.
Queens of the Stone Age. The band is incredibly original and every album released has a different but equally good sound.

Originality of the thread may be lacking but the originality of Radiohead's music makes up for the lack of originality :P.

Hahahaha I can't listen to it at the moment, but it takes up a large portion of my iPod as well, all albums and a ton of EPs.System of a Down. To this day, I'm yet to hear a band that even remotely sounds like them. Truly unique and I love the two singer's dynamics together. Their respective solo projects however, sucks.
Most listened to: Deftones
Most respected: The Beatles
Most knowledgable of: The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Most songs owned: Led Zeppelin (entire discography)
There is no "favorite", it might change from day to day. This is why I love music.

I think Toxicity is a masterpiece however i think Daron ruined Mezmerize/Hypnotize because his voice sounds like a little girl being kidnapped.
As for the topic, Ramones because they were 4 unique individuals who changed the world with their music.
I have 2 favourite bands.
1. Scorpions
I like them because of the sound of their guitars (pretty stupid thing to say but the tuning of their guitar-playing in most of their albums is just awesome. ex: Lovedrive, Animal Magnetism) I also like Klaus Meine's voice.
The thing they always lacked was interesting lyrics and themes for their songs. They always talked about sex/love and lately about the world going the wrong way.
2. Smashing Pumpkins
I dont know why I like them. I mean, I cant detect what it is that I like about them. But I definitely like the singer's voice. Perhaps their music is in tune with my quitter attitude lately (the complainful attitude of the lyrics, the singer's whining voice etc)

Yeah I sort of agree, though I absolutely loved Mesmerize still. In fact I love ALL of their albums with the exception of Hypnotize and that was only cause I didn't like the direction they tried to take it with a lot of the songs and it lacked that chaotic rawness of their previous albums. Daron however, needs to pull his head out of his ass and start actually working with the band instead of being a grade A D-bag. I saw them live and they had an argument on stage (it was their last show before the hiatus).
Porcupine Tree because they're pretty kewl.Guppy507
I had to be in a mall today to fix my cell phone plan and all I could think about was "holy hell I hate this place. Poeple really just shuffling around like zombies". then on my way home I cut through a beautiful park when I witnessed a dude who looked awful bringing out paraphernalia to inject drugs with his little group of junkies. Then I got to the trolley stop and had to wait next a bunch of brodudes with popped collars talking in the most cocky way not holding back on just rude conversation topics.
God I can't wait to get the hell out of this city full of filth and return to school.
i vote for Dave Matthews Band. the songs are beautifully composed and the lyrics are always captivating. the nlatest stuff isn't all that great but anything prior to and including The Lillywhite Sessions is epic in my book. there is nothing like smoking a bowl and effing your girl to the sounds of DMB.
Definately Agalloch. They create some of the most beautiful, atmospheric songs that i've ever heard and the fact that they never make a new album unless they can experiment with a truly different sound is respectable. I love every single one of their songs and they are finally close to releasing a new album after 5 years of waiting :D
If I had to choose a single artist, I would choose Neige. Every single song he has composed in his different bands (Alcest, Amesoeurs) is amazing and has made both of those bands some of my favorites of all time.
The Cure....no surprise. Why? Why does someone have a favorite band....generally because the music the band plays is most liked/enjoyed by the individual. But since you want a philosophical reason.....I like The Cure best because of all the music I've heard......and I've heard more than I can remember....the atmosphere, lyrics, instrumentation, vocals, emotion etc stand WAY above all other bands.
The music just connects with me in a way no other bands does....
band: TV on the Radio because they make very layered yet catchy songs and are original at the same time. they mix so many different genres of music together (jazz, rock, hip hop, electronica, folk, tribal rhythms, punk) that you cannot categorize them musically. a truly unique and genius band.
artist: El-P because he's light years ahead of everyone else in hip hop, nobody can touch this guy production-wise. lyrically, his flow and subject matter are unmatched. the guy is a genius and i wish more people would recognize what he's trying to do for hip hop, he's trying to progress the genre and take it to that next level instead of doing the same crap over and over and sounding like everyone else. we need more people like el-p in hip hop...
Scars on Broadway is crap...Although I enjoy Serj Tankian's project.Empty Walls,Feed Us,Unthinking Majority.I love Elect the Dead. Here's to hoping they will come back together :(System of a Down. I think we'll see them getting back together in the next couple of years. My main issue with their side projects was that both of them just felt like System, but missing half it's sound. They are a group I believe sounds fantastic together, but separate their weaknesses shine through a lot more and you lose that awesome dynamic.

Hmm,you do have a good point.I agree.Although I still enjoy Serj's work.Down
Simply because of Phil Anselmo and his song writing abilities. The rest of the band is very talented as well and being they come from playing different subgenres of metal, the songs they create incorporate nicely their respective styles.
A Skylit Drive. Why? Because they are amazing. They just need to be better live.
The-Mosher
I imagine it would be difficult for Jagmin to keep his vocals consistent over the duration of a live performance.

The first band that comes to mind for me is Nirvana. I grew up during the grunge days so I listen to grunge alot still, reminds me of old times :). But I also listen alot of heavy metal with my favorite heavy metal band being Through the Eyes of the Dead
Gonna have to go with Andrew Jackson Jihad at the moment. Their combination of folk and punk music, blended with dark and amusing (and sometimes morbid) lyrics just itch that spot on my soul that no one else can
