My favorite place to go is Barnes and Noble. I like looking at and buying books, if I get bored with that I can go check movies, if I get hungry I can get a snack, it's never overly loud, if I need a place to sit there's ample room to do so. I can even go there and use it like a library if I need to so long as I bring a computer or just want to read one of their many books. It's just a nice experience, and it's almost never off-puttingly loud.

Do you guys have a favorite store you like to visit if you are out and about or just want to get out of the house for a while?

Book stores are generally pretty cool.

Peet's Coffee might be my favorite and most practical, though; damn good coffee. Do those count?

I still like going to Supercuts whenever I get a haircut. Even though the girls who work there all cut differently, some better than others. I just like it a lot more than the older barbershops and hair salons that used to be around.

Don't know if that is my favorite brick-and-mortar store, but that one came to mind since I am thinking of stopping in tonight.

I didn't think about that, haircuts can be a stress reliever for sure.

Sure, why not. As long as we don't get into straight up restaurants.

GameStop is probably the most fun store to go into.

I kind of like the local installment of Half Price Books.

It's a chain that sells new and used books and other media at discounts. They are aggressive stock movers and always have a large selection of clearance items that are fun to browse through and bargain hunt in.

Since my tastes are pretty varied, it's fun to just look for the diamonds in the rough, think "this sounds cool!", and pick up something that I may not have even heard of before. Plus, they provide free coffee and encourage staying around to explore the wares or read a chapter of a book you're considering. It's just my kind of laid back place.

'Book Sale' is my fav bookstore here in my country. So quiet and peaceful and their products are super cheap.

There's this bakery + delicatessen place. I had to limit my visit to once a month because every time I go there I would get a bit carried away. I would go in for some croissants and a loaf of bread, then come out with things like slices of chocolate cake, boxes of macarons, lemon tarts and several ready-to-eat Caesar salads.

I'll catch flak, but Walmart. Not that I prefer to shop there, but they have a ton of random stuff. Easy to waste time checking out random stuff I normally wouldn't consider.

Fry's Electronics, but we don't have them in Colorado. A comparable chain is Microcenter, which is pretty much the only place left where you can buy all the components of a PC in my state.

I've heard of fry's, our equivalent in Calgary is Memory Express. Great place, every computer component you could ever want stacked to the ceiling.

I guess Target, Menards and Walmart. For electronics or books I buy Amazon usually.

Yeah but I can find them cheaper online. Their hard drives especially are a rip off. $150 for a 5400 rpm 4tb drive lol. $120 bucks online for the exact same drive, free ship. Don't even have to get dressed.

Which drive?

That's why I just use shopbot.ca and get them to price beat everything.

@appariti0n: I just checked. You're talking about the Seagate drive right?

One place has it for $120 on shopbot, but then it's $130 when you go to their website. No free shipping.

Another has it for $123, and shipping is $15. So you'd save a whopping $2.

Of course, but the question was about Brick and Mortars. My Amazon order history is quite long, but these are the stores I go to when I need something right now. Example, I replaced two 1080s with two 1080 TIs. They arrived Friday night and I started to install them, only to discover that my SLI bridge was too short because the new cards are 2.5 slots wide instead of 2. Microcenter had an SLI bridge that fit in stock. Bought it that weekend before going out for dinner.

Another example, I sat down Friday evening to play Eve Valkyrie in VR with the Warzone update for the first time, only to have my flightstick break an hour in (this crap always happens on a Friday). The next morning I took my kids down to Microcenter where they had the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS in stock. I was up and running again Saturday night.

I get why there aren't as many of them anymore, but there will always be a need for at least a few brick and mortars.

For me Half Price book Stores and 5 below. I live in southern US. 5 and below is a store with everything under 5 dollars. I was there recently and bought a TON of stuff for Christmas gifts.

I like the quiet but bustling vibe of the Half Price book stores in my area. They always have GREAT prices on books. I never pay full price for books as I buy all my books from here.

They have games, comics, movies, music(even LPs), etc. as well. Lots of cool stuff. They even have cool tangential stuff. Also they have an area to sit down and chill.I found this yesterday at my local one for $20. I found this for $10 on Black Friday. My kid is gonna love them.

5 below has cool knick knacks at a great price.
