My favorite show on BBC is Top Gear.BranKetrayea I agree top gear is awesome even as an American I agree top gear uk is way better than top gear usa
Current or past?
Luther and Sherlock were both great suggestions.
State of Play (that the US movie was based on) was also awesome.
The Shadow Line was freaking awesome.
Outcasts was like a much better version of Tera Nova but it got cut short after only one season with no conclusion.
Survivors was also a really cool show, but it got cut on a cliffhanger after 2 seasons.
The Last Enemy with Bennedict Cumberbatch (Bandersnatch Cumberbund?) and Robert Carlyle was also ok but the message was a tad heavy handed.
Ultraviolet was a REALLY cool vampire series.
Coupling was freaking hilarious. Obviously not the abortion they made in the US.
The Office was awesome.
Life on Mars and the spinoff/sequel series Ashes to Ashes were both incredibly good. Again, avoid the US version.
Doctor Who is cool if you dig that sort of thing (which I do, but I'm a big nerd).
Spaced was some of the best geek humor I've ever seen. Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright FTW.
That Mitchell and Webb Look/Sound/Feel were all hilarious, especially if you like Peep Show.
Peep Show. Also the more recent one by the same creators Fresh Meat.
Hunted was an awesome spy show starring Melissa George. It's supposed to be getting a second season/possible reboot as a US show.
Downton Abbey if you like period dramas (yeah yeah, I know).
Monty Python (obviously).
Psychoville was AWESOME. Some of the most bizarre and uncomfortable TV I've ever seen, but also really intruiging and funny.
All the other classic old comedies like Red Dwarf, Man Stroke Woman, A bit of Fry and Laurie (yes, "House" used to do slapstick comedy), Big Train (Simon Pegg's sketch comedy show), The Young Ones, etc.
The State Within was another decent drama.
Vexed is pretty funny. It's like if Patrick from Coupling were a crappy detective.
Whites was a fun mini series (referring to chef's clothing, not a racial comment. That's probably also why they changed the name of Spooks to MI5 for the US release ).
The Fades was an interesting supernatural thriller series.

Orphan Black is good, but it's actually a BBCAmerica produced show.

So it's still BBC.

It's a bizarre hybrid situation that defies all logic and reason.

[QUOTE="ferrari2001"]You're missing out. BBC makes excellent quality tv programs. I don't even know what channel it's on. :P BBC is it's own channel. In America we have BBC America which plays most of the same shows. In the UK they have several different BBC stations. It's channel 188 if you've got AT&T. I don't know what it is on other providers.[QUOTE="zeroyaoi"]Don't watch anything on BBC.zeroyaoi
copper, doctor who, blackadder, sherlock, red dwarf, a pile of documentaries, the list goes on and on.

Google says it's channel 135 on my provider. Will check it out often, and see what grabs my attention.
