well i work as a part time temp at a company and i hate it.....superviser's a b**ch and throws all her work to me to do ....thankfully im quitting at the end of the month...

EDIT: another reason i hate it is cause they delayed my pay by 1 week...and paid me wrongly after that week..so it means 2 weeks delay..

I "teach" classes for maybe 2-3 hours a day and then either fall asleep at my desk or surf the internet. After classes are over, I still need to stay for another hour or two, so I just play sports with the kids. I get paid a full salary for doing very little. It's pretty friggin' awesome.

I run Heavy Equipment in Road Construction. Mostly a Bulldozer. I like running a machine. But I hate the business and the people I have to work for. I switched companies last year. Only to get a Superintendent that drank all day. And if you don't have family in the company it's tough to move up. I'm thinking Career change

My occupation is school student meaning I go to school; daydream and do some work. Then I take a nap each lesson and finally come back home. Sadly I don't have a job yet.

Im an engineer for a company called Alstom. I sit around helping design gas/steam turbines in various ways (theres really a lot to it). Mostly I end up doing Excel work or some other type of scripting as theyve caught on to the fact that Im quite good at it.

I cant at all complain about the job itself ... its well paid, I sit in a comfy office, they are sending me to switzerland for 6 months, I get good benefits and good job security in the current climate. Ive already been offered a permanent position after my graduate scheme is completed. All in all I am one lucky git.

Unfortunately Im desperately bored of it most of the time! Much as its a great job I got bored with engineering a long time ago and Turbines themselves dont interest me much so I wish I was doing something a lot more creative. Unfortunately my head for mechanical concepts and other technical stuff is a lot better than for music, or design, or art, or games development, or any other of the professions id rather have :P

So yeah. Great job ... totally uninspired by it. **whinge whing, whine whine** One can but dream.

I'm a Forester.

I graduated college with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. And, I'm currently an Inventory Specialist. Basically, I help keep track of what's going on in the woods. For example, when you hear a survey say 33% of the nation is forested, that's where I come in to play.

Odd thing is, most people go to college to work indoors, and I went to college to work outdoors. :D

I do practically the polar opposite. I sit at a desk and help people who have problems with their internet connection. Yup, an ISP support-monkey.

i use to work in a mail room for an insurance company. it was a nice job over the summer. it was a fun job to have. it was really the same day everyday. heres the schedule for an average day. 8 start work, put mail in folders to who they go to , 830, leave to go to the other building deliver mail, around 9, get back put things in the slots, do the checks people get like sort them out, 930 break, 10 organize the card, 10:30, leave for the building deliver mail, 11 get back sort it, 12 break, 1 just sit around until next delivery, nothing really to do, 3 go over again, 330 come back organize and just chill until around 420 then our boss lets us go. that is really how the day goes. it is really good job sens i'm always on my feet seeing different people.

I am a part time college student, and if it wasn't for UPS I probably wouldn't be going there now. They pay $3000 for school every year which is exactly what I need. I hate it, Things are getting very slow but now that it's valentines' week we're gearing up for war. Anyway I hate my boss and that's what makes me hate going to work every day.

I've never heard of that before but it sounds awesome!

I work at a talent agency.

Currently, my job titles are agent trainee / agent assistant.

My duties at the moment include submitting our clients to casting directors and getting them auditions in movies and TV shows. When they get an offer, we negotiate how much money they make and other deal points (dressing room, how they are credited on screen, travel expenses, etc) which will eventually go to their contract. My job also requires me to attend showcases, screenings, plays, etc to meet potential new clients and eventually get them to sign with our agency. The agent I assist teaches me everything he/she knows in regards to how to be an agent and eventually, when I learn enough, I will be promoted to Jr agent and then a full time agent.

I work at a small architectural firm. I mostly prepare zoning charts, model projects in 3D, provide realistic photorenders of projects for clients, prepare construction documents for working drawing...so pretty much everything except stamping the drawings and signing the checks.

... Job? What job?! *panics and looks at timer, wondering if ill be able to make it in time* Oh wait, i study. A teacher once told me that i should treat my line of study as a job in its own right. Thus, putting me in the favorable position of being able to answer/comment in this thread! Huzzah! I like reading, so im very content with it. :)

there are parts of it i enjoy and parts i loathe.. the parts i hate are the fact that everything is/was always needed yesterday... and there are too many people tracking what is being done and not enough people actually doing it... oh and meetings.. meetings suck.

I'm a uni student so my parents give me my spending money. When im home on holidays however I go to work for them as office assistant (family business). My sister and mom work in the office so there is only enough work for me 1 day a week when my sister is at her course. I work about 5 hours and get paid $12.69/hr. I don't do a whole lot and it can be boring but I can act how I want and browse the net (not really good work ethic practice :P). Other than that I sit at home after my work experience ended but I did that for about 6 weeks so I haven't been totally bludging the whole holiday :P I should really put a resume together for holiday work. Maybe stocking shelves or something dunno.

I'm an analytical chemist for a small pharmaceutical company. I spend about half my time writing validation protocols and reports and the other half in the lab developing and validating methods of analysis. I like it because my boss lets me do whatever I want as long as I turn my reports in on time.
