Answer these 3 things:

1) What is your last name

2) Where does it derive (if you know)

3) Any significant events related to the name?

For me:

1) Honeyands

2) Onions

3) Last person to be hanged in Bristol, UK for Murder was my great-great grandfather James Honeyands.

1) Won't mention for privacy reasons. 2) It's Persian and used in place of mentioning people from the royal family's name. It's rarely used these days though. 3) It was last name for a few Persian kings - I guess that means I have royal blood :o

Jones, it's a popular Welsh surname derived from a corruption of Ioan, Sion or Ieuan. It's the second most numerous surname in the UK.

1. Not saying.
2. There's debate whether it's from England, France, or Germany.
3. Aside from the *used to be* Veterinary Clinic Sciences Building at Kansas State University being named after my great-uncle, there's not much.

Edit: I forgot that there's two towns in the US with my last name. One in Oregon, the other in Pennsylvania.

2. Scotland, but not sure on what word it came from.

3. The progenitor of the name, Richard was a good friend of Robert Bruce and our family crest is a gauntlet with a dagger that represents Bruce stabbing a guy, when Richard said "Maun do it" which is our family motto and means "Must do it"

1) Simcox

2) I have no idea but upon googling my name, I came across a Grover Simcox, who is from Pennsylvania where my grandparents on my dad's side are from. He was born in the 1800's and was an artist. There was also another guy named Chris Simcox, who was the founder of some Minutemen Civil Defense Corps? I know he's not in my family lol.

I also found other things, like the simcox family crest, which is probably just a bunch of BS. Apparently the Simcox family is from the village of Simcoe...... It just smells like lies!

Wakeman

England I believe

How my name came to be was that the first Wakeman was a castle guard who would at night watch for approaching enemies and wake all the people if any were seen.

Frozt

Unknown

Many thousands of years ago, a young, nameless prince wandered the world in search of a name. His epic journey took him up mountains, through deserts, over seas and through deserted kingdoms for many years, with none to accompany him on his lonely search but his faithful horse. One day, when the unnamed prince had reached the end of his road, and was near to giving up, he looked up at the starry sky and saw the word "Kadamadaguuri" repeated over and over, and when he woke up, he had a name: Prince Kadamadaguuri, which now translates to "Frozt."

He ate the horse and went home and died.

It means "raven", it's Spanish, it comes from the Basque Country also in Spain, and a famous Spanish painter has the same last name.
