As the title says, do you like Nic Cage? And what do you think of his acting?
I like him. Been in a lot of stuff I like.
I think he can be a really good actor. Or, at least, a good actor for that particular role.
I'm not really sure if he is actually a really good actor, or just a really interesting actor. I'm glad he has found his niche as just being this kind of weird dude.
I thought he was good in:
Pig is maybe my favorite role of his, as he really really tones it down and you can sort of see his actual acting chops, and they're very good. Really enjoyed that movie, they made it come off as this dark and morbid movie in the trailers but really this grim but ultimately uplifting and happy story.
@hardwenzen: I like him. He gives his all every time, and I think he's a talented actor.
Stuff like the Wicker man isn't his fault. He gave exactly what the script and director were calling for. It just happened to be a terrible script and director lol.

That's how i feel. Excellent actor, but because he takes every role in the universe, lots of scripts are just disgustingly bad, so the movie ends up being mediocre at best. But if he was more picky, and wasn't accepting all these damn roles, how would he be able to be in 50 movies a year?🤣
He's one of those actors where if he's in a film, no matter how great or how schlocky, I'd consider watching it.
I guess he has star power? He's highly entertaining in everything he's in.
Yes.

Yeah, I don't think he's very good, but he is very interesting. You often get glued to the screen when he's on. I guess that makes him a good actor in a sense, but other actors can be much better at conveying believable emotions.
If I chose between a Nic Cage movie and a Denzel Washington one, I'd go for Nic Cage because I like him, even though I know Denzel is a "better" actor.
Movie stars seem to be a dying breed, but I think he's one of the few remaining ones.
I respect that being an Oscar-winning actor hasn't gotten to his head and he chooses all sorts of projects for the fun of the roles and not for the Oscar bait.
His movies overall are a mixed bag, but really a testament to his commitment and willingness to take risks.
I liked him in Con Air and Knowning. Saw him in a cowboy movie western and he was decent though using an accent sorta made question it was him. Ghost Rider is probably the worse as he didn't fit the part and seemed awkward.

Knowing is such an awesome film. Starts with a cool creepy mystery, moves to aliens, moves to end of the world, sci fi. It was a big surprise. Loved it.
For me, National Treasure is still the first film I think of when I hear Nicolas Cage. It's such a fun movie. Got me interested to in actual real world history too.
