If we're talking about shows that I can fire up right now and watch from start to finish, probably be:

2. Batman: Animated Series/Batman Superman Adventures
3. Samurai Jack
It's extremely hard for me to choose since I can pretty much watch over 20 shows that aired when I was growing up from start to finish....
Robotech was my absolute favorite because people actually died.

@Byshop: Awww man, I forgot to include "The Real Ghostbusters" Cartoon cause it was the first time I ever heard of Ghostbusters before I even watch the actual movie that started it all. And to make it worst, I forgot to include "Beetlejuice cartoon as well since that too has introduce me to Beetlejuice before I watch the movie lol.

It's worth noting that a lot of '80s and '90s American cartoon shows (e.g. Duck Tales, D&D, Ghostbusters, Spider-Man, Batman, etc.) were animated by Japanese anime studios (usually TMS), blurring the line between American cartoons and Japanese anime.

Well, anime are still "animations" and even the Japanese still call them cartoons. So yeah.
