If anyone ask me what's my favorite cartoons I grew up in the 90's, I tell'em this:

  1. Captain Planet (only because it has the coolest villain, Duke Nukem)
  2. Swat Kats (great action pack, badass Kats with there fighter Jet Plane)
  3. Beast Wars (it was the era when 3D action cartoons were taking it to the new level I got into and a sequel to the original Transformers)

Honorable mentions:

  • Batman The Animation series
  • Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (It's a movie but goddamn, it's still one of the best Batman movie that's part of the Animation series and shows off what the network couldn't get away with at the time)
  • Superman the Animation series
  • Static Shock
  • Mighty Max
  • Spider-Man animation series
  • Fantastic 4 series (that was made by Hannah-Barbara)
  • Transformers Armada
  • Original Transformers
  • The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog (it's the first Sonic cartoon so hey, it wasn't bad back then but ten times better then let's say, Teen Titans Go)
  • Sonic SATAM
  • Eek the Cat
  • Felix the Cat
  • Inspector Gadget
  • Thundercats (the original version)
  • Voltran the Defender of the Universe
  • Bucky'O Hare
  • Battletoads cartoon series
  • Scooby-Doo (that was all made by Hannah-Barbara)

  • Pirates of Dark Water
  • TMNT-all animations from 90's and now
  • Gargoyles

So many damn cartoons to choose from....

If I had to choose based on views (Watched before going to school and after I make it home), it would probably be:

1. Pokemon

2. Digimon

3. Arthur (PBS kids show)

If we're talking about shows that I can fire up right now and watch from start to finish, probably be:

1. Beast Wars

2. Batman: Animated Series/Batman Superman Adventures

3. Samurai Jack

It's extremely hard for me to choose since I can pretty much watch over 20 shows that aired when I was growing up from start to finish....

Honorable Mention goes to the following:

  • The Real Ghostbusters (not the crappy fake one)
  • Dungeons and Dragons
  • Kid Video
  • Raw Toonage
  • Silverhawks (great intro)
  • Thundercats (classic, but wildly inconsistent in episode quality)
  • Voltron
  • Batman TAS
  • Gargoyles
  • Ren and Stimpy

And finally, ALF The Animated Series for having one of the best intro songs of any cartoon ever:

@Byshop: Awww man, I forgot to include "The Real Ghostbusters" Cartoon cause it was the first time I ever heard of Ghostbusters before I even watch the actual movie that started it all. And to make it worst, I forgot to include "Beetlejuice cartoon as well since that too has introduce me to Beetlejuice before I watch the movie lol.

American cartoon shows:

  • Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles
  • Spider-Man ('90s)
  • Aladdin

Japanese anime shows, if they count as cartoons:

  • Dragon Ball
  • Pokemon
  • Rurouni Kenshin

It's worth noting that a lot of '80s and '90s American cartoon shows (e.g. Duck Tales, D&D, Ghostbusters, Spider-Man, Batman, etc.) were animated by Japanese anime studios (usually TMS), blurring the line between American cartoons and Japanese anime.

Well, anime are still "animations" and even the Japanese still call them cartoons. So yeah.
