I think it was when I was about 10, when I heard that Yizhak Rabin was assassinated. Until then I knew nothing really about what's going on in Israel or the world, like the whole Israeli-Arab conflict and such, or other things that happened at that time (those I guess I don't even know about today, or maybe I just don't recall). Sure, I knew that there were wars and such, but until then it seemed that it was all in the past and that these days are all peace and happy thoughts.
softcore pron starts at around 11pm (well it did back then) on HBO. As an 8 year old, it was very enlightening. I wonder to this day if I'm mentally scared from this premature exposure to sexah-times.
Why do so many think of killing as a loss of innocence?

Well I'd think that anybody who has murdered another person isn't really too innocent, are they? I first lost my innocence when I first played Mortal Kombat most likely, when I was about 5 or so.
It was probably a series of events as follows: Mid-East conflicts, learning about the Holocaust in 5th grade, and then finally September 11th finally opened my eyes to a lot of the world. It just put all of history in perspective and pushed all of my youth out.
define innocence if you mean the happy optimistic side...I never really had innocence I never believed in Santa in such and I see a pretty dark, boring, stupid side to everyone and everybody :l best descriped in said quote "As I come to know more of mankind I expect less of them and judge a good man upon lesser standards then I did formerly"
