Whenever the sun runs out of hydrogen to fuse, and has to start fusing heavier elements causing it to expand into a red giant. The seas will boil off and the atmosphere will be blown away. It could end at any time with a black hole or supernova, completely unwarned and just end ina snap. Howeveri have a cool theory that our perception of time is so small because of the small power of our brains that the countdown is so slow it probably wont ever happen while we as a race are there to get ended.
