I've only been in a couple and each time I was right, and other users have generally backed me up......but, I'm still usually the first one to walk away.
Well, I've never really gotten in a heated debate over something on GS, but when I find myself typing a response that would get me into an arguement, I cool down and delete it.
The only debates I get in are sports related. They are usually unprovable due to the fact of the topic being about which athlete/team is better. If I'd get in a debate about something provable, I'd admit to myself I was wrong. I'd admit to the user unless he was being unreasonable in the duration of the argument.
i wont argue things i dont know and i respect the other as they respect me. but if i feel very strongly about something i try my hardest to change someones opinion. but its doesnt work unless they both have valid points and acknowledge them.
I got tired of those dumb debates. I state all the points I have, and then I proceed to ignore anything else that the user throws at me, because it's just the Internet. Although it wouldn't kill some, if not most of the people here to press the damned spell check button once in awhile.
Yes, when I'm wrong, I admit it. That's how discussion works. Sure, I could spend an hour typing bull**** and pretending that I know what I'm talking about while simultaneously insulting everyone who I'm debating and actually AVOIDING debate by arbitrarily declaring all of my opponent's points irrelevant and not worthy of a response, but that'd be pretty damn stupid, and a waste of time.
I don't get particularly worked up over any debate but I am ridiculously stubborn, to the point where it would take a hell of a lot for me to give in on any topic I have opinion on.

Yes, often, but the discussion usually doesn't last too long. Most often it takes only about one or two posts before someone says that my post was stupid, and by that time I usually have lost interest in the discussion.
As I said before, I just don't find it very interesting to make up a bunch of BS that I don't believe, just so that I have something to argue about. I'll sometimes say the OPPOSITE of what I believe either for ****s and giggles, or to sarcastically illustrate the absurdity of a common opinion that I find to be stupid, but those tend to be isolated posts rather than drawn out discussions. A few people get my point, a lot of people don't, but either way I just get bored very quickly and stop posting in the debate.
