Do you immediately look the word up using a dictionary? I do. It bothers me if I don't, and I do like to add new words to my ever-growing vocabulary. I even have to do this sometimes when I use GameSpot, as I come across some of the most weirdest words, that usually have a simple definition, and could be substituted with an even simpler word. It is nice to have a variety though, and I suppose I should thank GameSpot for expanding my vocabulary slightly. :)

Yeah, I feel compelled to look the word up right way. I've given dictionary.com quite a few hits over the years.

Same here, especially with GameSpot.

I can usually figure it out with context clues but if I'm really stumped then I look it up at m-w.com.

Like floccinaucinihilipilification. It just means... An estimation that something is valueless. I can't even pronounce it, let alone figure out why it's even necessary in the English language.

Yes. Though if I don't have access to look it up, I just guess.

I just pretend like I'm aware of what happened so people don't think I'm stupid or I wait for someone else to look it up.

When I'm reading, I'll usually just take it in context and make a guess from there, unless I've seen the word before and it's really killing me and I just have to know.

Or if I'm on a forum and I'm trying to make an educated reply, the only thing I fear is attempting to look smart but failing horribly. I mean a word could sound really cool, but after you put that into the dictionary, you end up going, "What the **** was I thinking."

For any words I don't know it's definition, I'd simply open Microsoft Word, and use thesaurus.

If there is a word I have never heard of if I'm kinda shaky on its definition I will look up or it will bother me all day.

I just make up my own definition of the word in my head to suit my argument.

If I ever come across a word that I don't know the meaning to, my usual intentions is to look it up online.

If I'm reading, I only look it up if it looks like it has a key part to the story.

Then look it up
