Hmmm, they might be tougher to find in Canada than in the US...I've seen them at numerous places, such as Wal-Mart, Target, Spencer's, occasionally even at grocery stores. If you keep looking around, hopefully you'll find one.
There is also the option listed above of buying one from someplace online that accepts cash/checks.

Then try some pawn shops and those type of places. They always have exotic things like that coming in there. If you're still stuck after that use someone's credit card, just give them the cash so they can put it back on their card.
