At first I thought I was the one who started it, since I'd never heard someone say it before I had started saying it a long ass time ago. :P Then people on TV started saying it and I came to the conclusion that people have probably been saying it for years and years and it just didn't catch on until recently.
I'm going Beast Mode on the Basketball Court, or I'm Beasty on the court. I've heard the term(s) in playing streetball. I've also heard the terms used for anything that you can dominate in. The original term came from Beast Wars, so I thought and someone just used it in a different venue.
I think it comes from the Beast Wars CGI-cartoon. In fancy terms, it means is doing something in an extreme manner (extreme enough to no longer be considered a human endeavor) designed to yield success. You can do anything in Beast Mode, from computer programming to sex to athletics. The manifestation would be different but the unifying factor is that you're doing all of them to a degree that's extreme and seems unnatural for a human to be able to do.
This...being a Jets Fan and having to live near buffalo...this is all I ever heard.... yeah it was in Beast Wars...but in regards to Sports..it was first used to describe Marshawn Lynch going off...
