So this has probably been posted before but a quick search yielded nothing.

Just curious, what does OT use to find new artists? I've been using Last.FM because it seems to have more underground artists rather than mainstream but lately it hasn't done any good. I keep getting the same songs over and over and not much new music similiar to what I'm putting in. I've tried slacker and pandora but they just don't seem to have those unknown bands that last.fm includes.

I cling to the bands that were big while I was in high school, and callously dismiss all new bands as sucky mcsucksucks.

Music Choice, Pandora, and when I go on Playstation Home and talk to people about music. I usually get recommended great bands.

I hardly listen to newer music.

But if I like a song from a commercial, TV Show, Video Game, or Movie I will look it up and if I like the other songs from that band then I will start listening to them.

Besides recommendation's from others, I've found most of the new bands that I listen to through Last.FM.

Pandora and one of my friends who's into super underground and alternative artists. And some video games that feature songs such as Borderlands with Cage the Elephant.

Lots of random ways. Sometimes I'll do a google search for styles of music I'm in the mood for listening to, or I'll read reviews of music albums and see a band in related products, or I'll randomly seen them mentioned on a website... If I use an internet radio site, I normally use Jango. I've discovered a few good bands there to.

I use youtube, which surprisingly has brought me to some really great music in all genres. It's really great for finding less popular bands since the related video side bar usually has a lot of different bands to check out on it.

Sirius radio. They have songs on there a good 4 - 6 months before you hear it on radio, and they play lots of bands that you don't hear otherwise. For instance, "Pumped up Kicks" was new back in like January and it just now has broken out as a hit on local radio.

I'm not even sure. I just sort of stumble upon them.
