Where is your perspective on humanity at right now?

After reading about that 7 year old that raped, and hearing about literaly babies being raped in Africa (and some other things Im not going to state) I'm starting to feel depressed. My faith is now gone, and I'm having a hard time understanding things at the moment.

Just think about it. Right now there are probably so many bad things going on right now and theres basically nothing we can do about. It is a sickening feeling.

What is your perspective at the moment?

Uh, would that African thing happen to be that story about Cango or Congo or however it was spelt where the soldiers are like torturing/raping women of all ages? Because I heard about that and literally couldn't eat or sleep well for a few days knowing that was going on. I lost a lot of faith in humanity, I don't care if there is a war or not, raping is so wrong.

I've lost all faith in our youth.

I feel quite disconnected from people in general tbh.

Sigh...such ignorance. You've just descreased my faith in humanity to an even lower point than it was when I entered this thread.

Humanity is generally good. People get all bent out of shape when they hear these upsetting stories, but you are losing your perspective. The vast majority of people are good hearted and good willed people. Yet you don't hear stories about that because it's not going to generate ratings.

I am just going to say that there are good things in this world and there are bad things. It's just how it works.

Right now, I could care less if 2012 were to happen and every living being on earth disintegratedinto ash and dust. It would solve the situation. But for now, I look out for #1, My family. Sure, I look out for close friends and my military "family", but at the end of the day, as long as I come home to a wife and kids who are happy to see me, I could care less what goes on.

And if that isn't enough to give a clue as to what my perspective is I don't know what is.

Perhaps I exaggerated what I meant: I feel disconnected from the extroverted party crowd from my university (it's like everyone's an extrovert these days), otherwise I get along fine with my old introverted friends and my family.

There are good people and there are bad people. There are intelligent people and there are stupid people. I could go on and on, but you get the point. There are so many different kinds of people out there. I can't honestly come up with a generalization for humanity. For every person I like, there are many I don't like. There are also a lot of people I dislike but respect or like but disrespect.

There are some sick, disgusting people out there. There are some real morons out there. There are also some really intelligent, hard-working, interesting, friendly, etc. people out there as well. Sometimes you just have to dig for them.

I have no opinion on humanity overall.

I can tell you that the victim (her words) was that after she was treated so bad, she actually thought she was a horrible person and deserved it, and that's why she stayed with him thinking she was a detriment to society and all that, it took a lot of convincing on my part to have her dump him...She's happy now though, she has a restraining order and that was a few years ago. Her last boyfriend was another ass, but at least he never laid a hand on her.

Wow.. thats tough. I've heard of things like that before. Women stay w/ abusive boyfriends because they feel useless, thats pretty common in those types of relationships I think. Does your friend go through any counseling or such?imaps3fanboy

Life, and humanity, is as beautiful as you want it to be.

But yes, there are some really ugly things out there too, unfortunately
