I think my boston terrier Rock looks very intelligent when I talk to him and I can see he understands most, if not all, what I say to him. The wrinkles on his face also help, too, for some reason. It gives him a really wise & intelligent look.
Definately the owl. I went to a Greater Vancouver Zoo about a week ago and saw soem in real life. They were all lookign at me with their slit-like eyes looking like they were the oens studying me, not vice-versa. I swear one of these days the owls are going to rise up and unleash all their superior intelligence upon us with one of their super secret human excavation death rays they've been working on in secret for the last few centuries.

Owls and Eagles as well:
And for sea creatures, Octopi. Their large "heads" make them look intelligent.
Some kind of bird. I think raptors have a certain quality about them, I never really got on with the whole owl thing.
Why undoubtedly he is pondering what the true meaning of life is...or possibly solving the current situation in the middle-east. Look at him, so wise, its all in the goatee you know your poised for greatness when your born with that.It has to be the mountain goat
