Probably Frank Zappa. If live albums count too, then maybe Pearl Jam.

Funny. If live albums counted then it would unquestionably be the Grateful Dead.

I think he means studio albums.

I was reading the other day about an artist that had 23 albums (was it Bob Dylan?) but idk if they were counting EPs and live albums or not.

From what I've seen, Rush. They have a truckload. I'm pretty sure there's artists with more, though.

Actually, after looking it up I found that Bob Dylan has 32 studio albums.

And if you want to cound other records, he also has 9 live albums, 14 compliation albums, for a total of 55 there, and 2 albums with Traveling Wilburys plus one compliation, for 58. (Not to mention appearances on at least 5 other albums of various artists, that would bring it up to 63.)

Van Morrison has over 30 albums.

The Rolling Stones have their fair share!

I don't think you checked that Sun Ra discography. I'd like to see someone trump that.

Including live albums, movie soundtracks, and compilation albums, Elvis Presley released (I think) 77. And I know Elvis holds the record for most albums sold :D

That's in dispute; the Beatles may have him beat, it's hard to tell since records from before the '80s are so dodgy.

That may be true. I know it's close with Elvis and the Beatles, very close. But it seems like more sources say it was Elvis who has sold more albums.

According to Wikipedia's article about the Billboard 200 (link below), the winner is Elvis Presley with 114 charted albums. The rest of the top five are Frank Sinatra (83), Johnny Mathis (73), Willie Nelson (57), and Barbra Streisand (54).
