Meaning Greatest Of All Time? So, of all the sports out there or the ones you follow who would you list?
Soccer - Zinedine Zidane, Pele, Lionel Messi
Basketball - Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant
Tennis - Roger Federer
Hockey - Wayne Gretzky
Ok then here, i'll add abit of variety to this,
Cricket: Sir Donald Bradman - Thought the game of Cricket was boring to watch so he went out there and just tried to smash the ball as much as he could, ended up being hte Greatest batsman and player of all time.
Boxing - Obviously Muhammad Ali, although if it was based on personality alone i wouldnt say so.
Kickboxing - I want to say Andy Hug but with only one K-1 title he falls short to guys who won it multiple times, So i'll say Semmy Schilt, tho Semmy has always had a huge physical advantage over his opponents and uses it very well so i wouldnt argue if people called Peter Aerts or Ernesto Hoost the GOAT in kickboxing.
Mixed Martial Arts - By far the GOAT is Fedor Emelianenko, a man that could have competed a MW but instead ruled the most volatile and unpredicatable division in MMA history in the biggest and best MMA organisation the world ever saw, aswell as beating the champions of competing organisations on multiple times.
Undefeated for a decade he was a true mixed martial artist, beating his opponents in every way possible and even defeating them at their own game which is something few can do, but he did.
Wayne Gretzky
Bobby Orr
Mario Lemieux
Joe Sakic
Steve Yzerman
Bobby Hull
Gordie Howe
Patrick Roy
Niklas Lidstrom
Maurice Richard
To name a few
Basketball - Michael Jordan
Baseball - Ted Williams
NFL - Joe Montana or Jim Brown
NHL - Wayne Gretzky
Tennis - Who cares
Golf - Jack Nicklaus - maybe Tiger Woods after a few more wins
Soccer - Pele
I've never had an interest in the history of sport. So I could only name recent greats, and then you'd all be like... are you ten, bro?SolidSnake35Wayne Rooney!
I don't feel qualified to comment on any sports other than basketball and football.
Basketball- Michael Jordan is #1. The other contenders are Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James.
Football- This is tough because of the drastically different roles that different positions play in football. Here's a list to pick from-
Joe Montana
Peyton Manning
Lawrence Taylor
Barry Sanders
Jim Brown
Tom Brady (you have no idea how much I hate putting him on this list)
Jerry Rice
Cycling - Eddy Merckx. He dominated the sport without having to resort to chemistry, like Armstrong did.
Soccer - Pele & Maradona
NBA - Kareem, Bird, & MJ
Body Building - Arnold
Speed Skating - Eric Heiden

Henderson was a fantastic player - hands down the greatest leadoff hitter ever to play the game and one of the most exciting players to watch. But I'd take someone like Ruth, Ted Williams, or Barry Bonds over him in a heart beat. Ted Williams' career on-base percentage is 800 points higher than Henderson's.[QUOTE="hartsickdiscipl"]

Eli Manning > Tom Brady
Yeah, he's a tard. But he's a tard that beat the Patriots in 2 Super Bowls.
Hulk Hogan is far more famous and culturally known worldwide than Steve Austin. Steve Austin had a great run, and was an amazing performer and character, but his impact on wrestling and pop culture recognition isn't near as big or influential as Hogans was. If you ask random people on the street to name the first wrestler that comes to their mind, 90% will say Hulk Hogan. The other 10% say Andre the Giant or Gorgeous George.Given that professional wrestling is the only athletic related content that I actively follow, my candidates for GOAT would be Stone Cold Steve Austin (arguably the biggest star in Pro Wrestling history), "Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Lou Thesz.

What are you smoking? Get back to me when Aaron has won multiple SBs and broken as much records as Brady has.[QUOTE="freek666"]Hulk Hogan is far more famous and culturally known worldwide than Steve Austin.
