Hi guys, I'm thinking of either getting a second hand porsche Boxster s Edition 2 (Limited edition model- 2008-09) or getting a Mecedes Benz SLK 300.
What do you guys think? or advise..
Thanks

Second hand?!?! Pfft what do these autos say about you? *pukes on thread*Griss_
Yeah, what's he thinking!? Just buy a Yaris because it's NEWWWWWWWW!
Seriously, we don't even know what the prices are so it could help. Also I'd probably go with the porsche because many mercedez are borderline ugly.
its not bad at all. looks and feels as new. I loved it when I test drove it.
Hasn't gone much, and it was used by the local porsche dealership manager.
Besides, its the limited edition (Porsche design edition 2) Boxster S.
Its just that people have been telling me the merc might be better in the long run.
Well your profile says you're in university. So get a sensible car that's good on gas and isn't too flashy. It's odd that you make this thread right now, I was just watching on the news that a bunch of university students near where I live are all upset because expensive cars are commonly vandalized and broken into on their campus.XilePrincess
That has never happened over here, its like a private uni, but I have never heard anything happen to cars over here.
I was just wondering which one of either cars had better quality and such
Before buying either of these cars you should keep in mind that they will have repair costs higher than economic cars in the same price range. I've seen a lot of people buy these types of cars assuming the repairs will be the same as their previous cars (or not even consider the repairs). Then when something goes wrong they can't afford it.
Well Im wondering about it.
I am aware of repair costs and parts etc..
I have taken that into consideration.
Both cars have fine looks imo, so I they have passed that.
Porsche has a slightly better performance and handling, yet the SLK might be cheaper to maintain.
Though I saw at least 3 SLKs today, and I don't know. Hmm..
The porsche did feel nice/smooth and energetic when driving. The Slk was more business like and serious.
I am sure that both cars have a good life span.
Hmm.. I wonder
Porsches are much more sturdily built (overall) than Mercedes. But a the Mercedes will have more upper class status than the Porsche, if that matters. I'd never get a Mercedes though, because most people who drive them get them mostly for their status and are asses.
EDIT: The SLK is also a very girly Mercedes, usually 20 something year old who has a rich daddy.
