Both countries have produced great music over the past several decades.
But which one do you think is home to the better musicians and bands?

Silly question. Texas alone is over twice the size of the UK. Comparing one to the other is hardly fair.
Still the answer is the UK. Obviously >_>
He gave answers pertaining to the question. What do you want?I don't know what he wants, but I was expecting a chocolate cake.[QUOTE="dontshackzmii"]
really? Your going giving us to options?

i lived in england for several years and there is sooo much stuff your lucky you wont hear unless you search for it. There are some obvious greats but rock in the US seems better at the momment
It comes down to genres. I'm a thrash metal guy, so I'm more for the U.S. However, when it comes to anything pre-80's, then the U.K. takes the cake.
[QUOTE="mexicangordo"]Niclkeback is Canadian?I was thinking the same thing.Canada obviously....If you ignore Nickleback.

The UK has a good electronic scene and decent-passable metal scene. Their rock and especially punk has been really weak in the last decade though. The US on the other hand has a pretty s*** electronic scene with dubstep and synthpop dominating as of late. Rock, metal, and other types of guitar oriented music are generally better here in the US than in the UK. Honestly out of those two I'd go with the US for the music I listen to.
On a sidenote, Canada has pretty great music all around as long as you avoid the radio.
For Japan since I don't like J-pop that leaves Japan's best with noise punk, math rock, and a few metal bands. That's about it for them in my opinion, and that's not enough for me to really give them the best overall.
[QUOTE="TheShadowLord07"]I'm going to go ahead and agree with this. Ehh admittedly I've listened to very little Japanese music, but most of what I've heard has been bad J-pop (but I repeat myself) and underwhelming metal. Now admittedly there's a couple of songs I like but I've found very little of interest... maybe I just haven't looked hard enough *shrugs*Neither. Japan.

What else is there ? :S Voted UK of course. equalized the score :Preally? Your going giving us to options?

I'd say that the U.S. put out more good bands recently than the U.K. did. Of course, it may have something to do with their 5-times larger population, but the question doesn't say "per capita".
i like american bands more sadly, the only good uk band i can pop off my dome is bullet for my valentine
Well, the least you could do is list a band that is actually good and not some generic Metalcore band. Try Iron Maiden, Carcass, Judas Priest, and Anathema.i like american bands more sadly, the only good uk band i can pop off my dome is bullet for my valentine

With guitarists like Gilmour and bands like Pink Floyd, I definitely agree.Still the answer is the UK. Obviously >_>

What others are saying: U.S. is winning for recent bands.
U.K. definitely wins for the "before the 90s" age lol.
Canada obviously....If you ignore Nickleback.

This and add Justin Bieber to that shame pile.
there are plenty of american bands i think are great but how the hell are you supposed to compete with stuff like led zepplin, the stones and the beatles?

second this
Besides my favourite band is Canadian, Billy Talent.
Honestly, I cant say anymore. I like certain types of music and a lot of my favorite artists happen to be american and british. I'd rather not choose.
