Wow people are so ignorant :| Australia is the most multi-cultural country in the world followed by Canada.pspdseagleI don't know... the US is VERY diverse and accepts more immigrants yearly than all other countries combined.

Outside of big cities like Toronto or Vancouver, Canada really isn't particularly diverse. The entire middle section of the country, the Maritimes, and small-town Ontario are pretty white. Toronto and Vancouver are, however, incredibly diverse. That said, the Hispanic and African-American communities alone probably dwarf Canada's diversity.

How do they dwarf it?
as in, numerically, those populations alone probably come close to equaling, if not outnumbering, the entire immigrant population of Canada. I'm also pointing out that there really isn't a black population outside of Toronto and that there really isn't much of a Hispanic presence at all in Canada.Paladin_King
There are many hispanics here :| and many black people...people of all ethnicitys.
Wow people are so ignorant :| Australia is the most multi-cultural country in the world followed by Canada.pspdseagleAustralia just has multiple Asian groups. I'm probably going to guess the United States of America.

I hate to tell you, but African Americansare not considered immigrants in the U.S.
As to the question at hand, I'm not sure about the whole country, but Toronto is the fifth largest city in North America. It population is largely made up of British, Irish, Italian, French, South Asian, Chinese, Black/Caribbean, Filipino, Latin American, and Aboriginals. No one group dominates.
There are neighborhoods that include "Little Italy, Little Jamaica, Chinatown, Koreatown, Greektown, Portugal Village, and others. I learned all this because I wanted to move there for a while. There is no city in the US that compares. Miami is next, but it is mostly just Cubans and other Latin Americans mixed with the native population. 50% of Toronto is immigrant.

What? Have you ever been to Australia?

Not to mention the islanders (Samoa, Tonga, PNG). Australia and America are the largest multicultural nations, as to which ones bigger I'm not sure.

oh and for the record Aus has an imigration rate of 6% roughly, while the US has 4% roughly and Britain is roughly on par with US while its a known fact that Canada has the highest imigration rate in the world.
Doesn't mean it's ethnically diverse though. :Poh and for the record Aus has an imigration rate of 6% roughly, while the US has 4% roughly and Britain is roughly on par with US while its a known fact that Canada has the highest imigration rate in the world.

Have you maybe got a link to those stats? I'm finding it very difficult to track down any reliable statistics on British immigration at the moment. I know that the home office released some information a couple of months back, but it's come under heavy fire from the right wing press, and for some reason, I can't seem to findeven those figuresanywhere.
Over the last 5 years, since Britain loosened its immigration policy to accession EU countries such as Poland, Slovakia and Bulgaria, the country's seen an enormous influx in the number of migrant workers, and I wouldn't be surprised if the figures you quotedhad more than doubled. It's still not clear, though, how many foreign workers are planning on staying in Britain and how many are working only semi-officially so I'd expectany statistics to be skewed.
If we're talking about the most immigrants, than this isn't even a question. It's the GCC countries (Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar). 70% of the population are immigrants. However, it's not the most multi-ethnic because most of these people come from South Asia, South-East Asia and Egypt.oh and for the record Aus has an imigration rate of 6% roughly, while the US has 4% roughly and Britain is roughly on par with US while its a known fact that Canada has the highest imigration rate in the world.

The flaw here would be for USA and Australia those countries are like a big metropolis and a melting pot of different cultures. Many would rather be called 'Americans' or 'Australians' instead of the ethnicity.
Like a guy said earlier, it could be Malaysia. I've been there. Its not that big, but the country recognizes it's citizens as different ethnics altogether and not to mention it too have a large aboriginal community.
Per capita Australia has the most asians for a western country. That's the only official fact I know, in some suburbs its so heavily dominated by asians that if your white you stick out from the crowd. Theres a tonne of middle-eastern people, african people but it is mostly dominated by Southern, Easern Europeans and Asians from basically all over Asia at least in Melbourne and Sydney, immigrants don't choose the boring parts of Australia, they're pretty smart. In my school people white people just stick out like a sore thumb.
