So my family and I decided on a family pet and we agreed on a dog.The thing is we have no idea what breed to get.we want a dog that will not grow to big( weighing roughly 20 to 25 pounds) something with not a lot of hair, intelligent and not difficult to train and obidient and doent require a large amount of exersize so far we have been looking at the beagle but are not sure. Can anyone tell me a dog that fits?

All help is greatly appreciated

Pit Bull.

Photobucket

You may want to get a female though. They're less agressive.

i beleive you meant breed not bread but beagles are very good dogs and very faithful the most it will ever weigh is maybe 25 pounds. also scottish terriers are good. but the best would probably be a basset hound although they can weigh around 40 pounds and are not what you call active

I haven't noticed it. Usually they start to act up once they spot my cat.

The one I met seemed very intelligent (obeyed commands without a problem). I didn't hear her bark once despite all the new people and foreigh environment. For the most part it depends on how a dog is raised as to whether or not they are yappy. Of course, small lap dogs and watch dogs are more prone to it but that is becaue they are typically high strung and not used to a lot of different noises. My lab never barked or 'spoke' unless he wanted something or had a very good reason to.

But corgi's have a ton of personality and are genuinely friendly dogs.

I use to have a mini-miniature Dachshund. They're absolutely hilarious and are nice and small so they can't cause any real damage.

Although I can't stand pets, west highland white terriers fit that description you're looking for. They weight up to 20 lbs (ours is over 20 but she's an overweight dog), they're smart, easily house-trained, and they don't shed.

I work at a puppy store so I see a ton of different breeds come through.. I'd strongly recommend a Shiba Inu. They grow to be about 20-25lbs and come up to about knee high. They take a little work to train, but as a puppy it should be no problem if you put the time and energy into it (as with any dog).

also, omg they are adorable dogs.

Edit: oh sorry I didn't realize you wanted a low shedding dog. Carin Terriers/Miniature Schanuzers maybe as well.

GET A PUG!! I have one, but if you do not want hair get the black pug. the faun pugs have two layers of fur...needless to say hairy as hell. my pug is huge and only weighs 27 ounds. they are very smart too. and learn quick. u just gotta be careful tho cuz they are notorious beggers and are very prone to being fat, so dont overfeed it no matter what

PUG
