I think its hard to determine which language would be the easiest. I'd say it depends on your first language. The easist language would be one that was most similar to your original one.
Well it depends on what your native language is. If it's English, then I'd say Spanish is probably the easiest because you don't need to learn a whole new character set and I don't believe there are any tones to learn. As for hardest with a native English speaker, I'd say any Asian language is the most difficult.
gah i took spanish for 2 years and hated it, now ive been taking japanese and its pretty easy, proununciation(sp) is simple because every letter makes the same sound all the time, only hard part is learning to read and write the kanji, though kana is fairly easy, not to mention have the words sound like western words, so id say japanese but ive really hadnt had any experience with anything else except spanish.....no me gusto espanol(thats about all i remember)
