Umm...well i have the 80gb and im really happy with it. Plays music well and seems fairly robust, is also good value for money imo. Although, undeniably, the ipod touch does have the edge in the "cool factor" :P, but its more expensive and probably alot more delicate.
So...my advice is, if u have lots of music/vids u wanna store go for the 80gb, you will be satisfied with it:D, but if u dont have that much u wanna store, and u care about lookin cool by all means go for the Touch. Its a matter of preference really....but imo the 80gb is the best option!
80GB just seems so pointless to me because Ipods usually need recharging after listening to around 80-100 songs.PsychoT4Prez
I don't really get the connection there. So it needs recharging but it can hold more songs so you don't need to keep changing your library (which with iTunes is horrible especially if you have an iPod with low storage capicity but a lot of music).
I have an 80gb and it can hold lots of movies and music, 80gb>8gb. I don't really see the point of the touch except for posers to show off to be honest, but even then I just would think it was sad someone bought it.
I juggled with the same question when deciding which to get. My friend had an 8gb so I had a lot of time to mess with it. I ultimately went with the 80gb. Not only is it $150 cheaper, but it has way more memory(obviously). If you go with the 8gb, and your worried about delicacy, don't. It's surprisingly durable. I've dropped it many times without any problems arising.
Go with the 80gb, especially if you plan on putting alot of movies on it.
Unless you have about 20,000 songs and need to access them all at one time, I would get the iPod touch. It's meant to be used with smart playlists so you can switch out large playlists of songs everytime you charge. You get email, a web browser, and a youtube application. In June, official applications are going to be released by major companies. Super Monkey Ball using the accelerometer in the iPod touch>80GB of music.
This June you will be able to play games on the touch. Think about it...
And if you do get the touch. Buy the 16GB, you will need the space.
Well I have the 8gb touch and yes it is "neat" but its not as great as its supposed to be for one thing the battery is really Sucky it barelly lasts four hours , and forget about the using of Itunes on the fly ....when you connect to Itunes via the itouch you get basically a REALLY trimmed down itunes store ,just the top 20 songs of a few categories ,no movies no tv shows no podcasts no audiobooks just a few song choices that really suck if you want to download any of that other stuff you MUST be connected to you PC ...............my advice , go with the 80gb .mi6ops
1 you get the entire itunes music library you just have to use the search function and you can download music videos, but it would be rediculously impractical to download an entire tv show or movie straight to the iTouch

If your battery is only lasting four hours, you must be leaving wifi on. Battery life with wifi is an estimated four hours, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what you are doing. Someone already commented on the songs, but movies and tv shows would take too long to download, and kill your battery life, so it would be pointless. My advice is go with the iPod touch and not to listen to people who don't know what they are talking about.
