Either the new Creative Zen http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9769340-1.html?tag=img or the new Sony Walkman http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/sony-nwz-s615f-2gb/4505-6490_7-32591617.html?tag=txt
Both are miles ahead of Apple in quality and features.

Ipod classic 80gb. The touch and nano seem worthless with such little storage.Codename33
exactly, thats why i ordered the 80gb classic. the touch is cute and all but 16gb for $399 lol.....right
I have a 30gb video and love it. If I were to get a new one, it'd probably be a video with a larger HD. I still have 12gb left on mine though, and I have around 1,400 songs and 8 movies on it (as well as a good collection of Robot Chicken and RvB videos).
I haven't seen much about the newer ones, but I want to get an iPhone in 8-10 years (I'll never be able to afford one until after school. I'll have to get a new car before then too).
Am i the only one who sees how much of a ripoff the itouch is, are people blind or something:| the 16 gig itouch cost 399$, but the archos 605 with 80 gigs is 350$. You people are being ripped off this much and nobody seems to care:lol:Film-Guy
because we realize that we are paying for brand name and sexiness

Also Agreedmy sisters birthday is coming up. She wants a nano. Im thinking of giving her My nano 4gig, and splurging on the new nano. i really dont care about storage, as i normally only keep my iPod at Half capacity, so ill just load the other half with a few Movies.
im probably picking one up this weekend.
does anyone know the actual dimensions, or a comparison photo of the new nano?
I want the new Nano with the touch screen and can play movies (that exists, right? Hell, I'm only going on hearsay), but only cause I just lost my old nano in a fireball. It was a good iPod, lasted me years...Fortier
you could just buy a cowon D2 which has a 52 hour battery for audio and 10 for video and 2.5 inch touch screen with an SD card slot for extra storage

52 hours...quite good. What's the price tag, and are they hard to come by?

I dont think you can buy it in stores, but here is the site you can buy it:D

cowon has the best audio quality of any MP3 player out there, its a good deal.
Had I not just bought the 30G ipod last year, I'd definitely go for the 80G Classic which is a steal for what I paid. No matter, its not close to being filled up but still. For those on a budget, those new nanos are really slick now that they have video for the same price. I'm not too impressed with the ipod touch. Really pricey for so little storage space.
As far as iphones go, I'm not going back to the crappy service of AT&T Ctingular just to have one of those phones but I feel bad for the early adopters as well as people who bought the current nanos recently. Even if someone hacked it, how much of a hassle is it for the average joe to get the iphone to work with any service?
I'd probably go for the iTouch, but my ipod works fine so I won't be getting it anytime soon. Devil_Huntress
I'm trying to replace the dying battery on my first gen iPod Nano instead of buying a new one.
It doesnt charge when I plug it in via USB (tried on different computers and with different cables.) It does charge when I plug it in to my dads 12v iPod radio thing, but not as much as it should charge. I lost my headphones too.
I want a touch but I just wish it had more storage space. If they would've doubled the storage at each price point I would've been all over it. But I have >16gb of music so I'll have to handpick songs either way, so I might as well go 8gb and save money.
I don't think the ipod classic is different enough from my 4G 30gb ipod photo to upgrade since I don't need the extra storage. I'm actually thinking of going iphone since they cut the price so much and it's only $100 more than a comparable touch. I still have a year left on my verizon contract but I figure I'll do the fake social security activation to unlock the ipod/wifi until I can switch my phone contract. I figure I'll have to hand pick tracks on a 16gb touch anyway, so I might as well go w/ an 8gb iphone and get rid of my FU#@$ING windows mobile phone (I hate that thing) when I can. Of course I'll unlock that sucker and use TMobile.
Neither one of those has wifi w/ browser and music store, even the sony link you provided says it's nothing new in terms of tech. You lose. Just admit you like them because they're not Apple. All the reviews of the sony are lukewarm, no one really likes it.Either the new Creative Zen http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9769340-1.html?tag=img or the new Sony Walkman http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/sony-nwz-s615f-2gb/4505-6490_7-32591617.html?tag=txt
