I think they're both equally good. I like pancakes best when they're light, fuffy and chewy. They have to be in a stack of atleast 3 and be less than a centimeter thick. I like waffles best when their crunchy on the ouside and soft on the inside.
Ofcoarse they both have to be home made from scratch
If they're both plain, then waffles are where its at, but pancakes are much more open to customization than waffles. And you can make some pretty damned good pancakes if you put all your heart into it!
