losing by a last second field goal or getting shut out in a massacre? we lost friday because of the field goal, the score 3-0, and we went 4-1 instead of 5-0, that sucks, tell me what you think

Physically neither are painful, but emotionally i'd say the first one.

If by massacre you mean something like 51-0 then I'd say that one. Its twice as embarassing because not only did you get any points, but you were not able to stop the other team from getting them as well.

being blown out is worse, cause you looked like crap the entire game rather than just a last minute play.

Less painful is losing by one, at least you were close.

Most painful is not even scoring, makes me feel like I didn't even try my best, and that we suck.

The soccer (or football)team at my school got shut out the entire season, never won one game. Now that was painful

It's like when you're getting into a cold pool. Do you suck it up and jump right in (last second loss), or do you ease yourself into it a little at a time (blown out loss). I don't think there's really a definitive answer.

That happened to my old football team dear god did we suck in that school we only won 2 out of 8 games. And on one play on special teams I came so close to tackling the guy but then I tripped and he made a touchdown. Man was I pissed.

Are you talking about Football (Soccer)? coz i aint ever heard of a field goal before! Open play i assume ya mean. A field goal to me is American Football or Rugby with armour as i like to call it, then after seeing the score i guess it couldn't be....

Anyway losing without scoring is pretty gutting as it means ya couldn't get the job done, to conceed five or four i would personally shoot my defence and see if the goalkeeper, goaltender or whatever ya wanna call him actually has the ability to see and the use of two arms.

Just for your reference, biggest win in British Soccer is 36-0 so if ya ever feel bad about losing again, think of these poor guys!!!!
