Only hamburgers, so rule out taco bell, pizza hut or KFC... (even if some of them do have hamburgers, they are not mainly hamburger chains)

which one would be your choice? I like carl's jr because the burgers are big, well cooked and the beef is juicy on the inside.

wendy's comes close, but I really dont like how they serve their burgers with cold ketchup/mustard.

burger king also comes very close, closer than wendy's, its just too damn good...too bad its so expensive in comparison to others.

and lastly mcdonalds, the burgers there are just ridiculously small.

They literally are the same place. They are just called one name or the other in different locations. No idea why though.

If I have to eat it, maybe Wendy's for the Baconator or Dairy Queen.

Haven't had any of the smaller ones or ones that are only in the States.

Will never make a good burger in what sense? All the major chains make good tasting burgers if that's what you're referring to. Good in quality, maybe not so much.

I've never heard of any restaurant using freeze-dried meat for burgers.

I'm guessing he means frozen and not freeze dried.

I'll be honest, before i turned veggy, i liked Maccy D burgers, even though i knew they were abhorrent to eat and support the chain, they were lovely.

Also its not a chain but the burger van that was in my town did the best burgers on the planet. I once had a triple cheeseburger there, thought i was going to have a coronary.

Is Hungry Jack's owned by Burger king or something? Their logo and color scheme is exactly the same.

Well in AUS its called Hungry Jack's , Hungry Jack is a franchise of Burger King. So technically they are the same company, but as they are not owned corporately, but have individual owners, the name is changed.

The name was changed bc Burger King was already trademarked in Australia.

For the global chains I'll say Carls Jr. or Wendy's. Smaller would be Five Guys and Astro Buger.

They are just called one name or the other in different locations. No idea why though.Pirate700

Hardee's was bought by Carls Jr. back in 1996 (think it was then, fuzzy on the year). Hardee's was a fast food resturant for like 30 years already, so they kept the name in those locations. They now serve the same exact menu from what I know.

Yeah I'm with this. Wendy's is probably the best for burgers out of the main chains now that they changed their recipe. BK is good too for cheap (stackers and their chicken in particular). McDonalds is awful and the rest are generally mediocre. I haven't eaten a Hardees burger in ages so I can't even say how I feel about them.

The best Whataburger around is the one on Jefferson Ave in Newport News VA just down from Mercury Blvd. Their burgers are fresh made. I don't even think they are associated with WHATABUGER in Texas.

They are not, they did not even know about each other until about 1970. I only know this bc I read the wikipedia page for Whataburger last night.

A&W generally makes good burgers. I love the Uncleburger with cheddar and bacon. Or teen burgers are decent. And honestly, I don't mind DQ. I always ask for the Sweet Deals cheeseburgers, and add lettuce and tomato to them, which ensures they're always fresh made. We just got Five Guys here, and are apparently getting a Carl's Jr. but I haven't tried either yet.
