Cutting off both hands is still bad.
IMO, just masturbate all you like and get rid of that stupid rule.

There's a heap of ridiculous laws herejimmyjammer69
Wow, some of those are rediculous. I guess I'm going to have to brush up on my Spanish skils, cuz I can't speak English in Illinois :?. Also, I live in C'Dale, so I'm going to go out and check out that thing about it being illegal to stand on the 500 block of Illinois Ave. Favorite law from my state: Champain: One may not pee in neighbor's mouth.
It just boggles the mind as to how that became a law, and what event took place to persuade that.
EDIT: I just looked up the 500 block of Illinois Ave, and if I'm correct the is a theater and a Dairy Queen there that doesn't have a drive thru and only serves ice cream. I guess that means if you want a cone you're going to have to break the law. That's gotta be bad for business :P
Is there are law saying that only women get the choice to choose abortion? If so that.123625
Seriously! And if she decides to have the baby you have to pay child support!? I think we need sum equality.
Either:
1. When a woman has the baby, the man has equal say in whether or not she gets an abortion (unless she was raped or the man has a felony record). So if the woman wants an abortion, she signs the baby off to the man and the moment the baby is born she loses all parental rights.
or
2. Women can get an abortion without consent from the baby's father, but if she decides to keep the baby and the baby's father doesnt want the baby, he doesnt have to pay child support or care for the child in any way or manner regardless of circumstances.
Laws against sodomy. Believe it or not, there are still laws out there on the books in some states that will punish people who engage in consensual anal, or oral sex, even in the privacy of their own home! Crazy. As far as people actually getting prosecuted in recent years, I have no idea, but I do know that the laws are there.elblanquito_81
You know, in Texas it's illegal to own sex toys; when they're sold in shops, they're educational devices. Well, some sex shop owner in Lubbock, TX(it is a college town, after all) forgot and sold them as (gasp) sex toys. Lubbock just happens to be in the bible belt. As in, when I moved here three months ago the first question out of almost everyone's mouth was, "What church do you go to?" They don't even sell alcohol in city limits, for God's sake, so you can imagine how well the sex toys must have gone over. So the police raided the shop and arrested the cashier. Yes. The CASHIER. Some poor college girl who didn't own the shop nor control what was sold within.
I remember hearing about it a few years ago. I think it was in '06...
Anyway, any laws regarding sexuality or sex are utterly ridiculious and regressive in my opinion.

Are you seriously playing the equality card on this one? Seriously?
Women carry babies for nine months, go through pretty intense pain and most of the time, have their bodies negatively altered for the worst.
A man has jack happen to him physically. But your actually suggesting women should be forced to go through this process if the man wants to?
No laws are flawed. Just most of them arent' necessary and bog down the system.EMOEVOLUTIONWhich would make them flawed. :|

Of course im playing the equality card! It takes 2 to make a baby! I understand a woman goes through all the drama, and I can understand her wanting to have an abortion. Fair enough, Im pro-choice, but WTF is the reasoning behind making us pay child support. If she is independent enough to have an abortion when the man wants the baby, then she is independent enough to raise it by herself.

It seems as a society (mostly) we've prioritised the rights of women to choose what happens to their bodies, than a man's right to decide the fate of a potential child.
I wasn't so much trying to support a pro choice or pro life position, just pointing out its silly to try and impose that sort of equality on what biologically is not an equal process.

II_Seraphim_II
I don't see the logic in that.
Raising a child alone is nowhere near as easy/inexpensive as getting an abortion.

I agree with you. A woman has the right to an abortion if she wishes. But at the same time, why should a man pay child support for a baby he doesnt want? If she has the right to "disown" the baby, then so should the man.

Biologically speaking it may not be equal, but the father should have a say in the matter because he put something into the equation as well. But at the same time, why should a man pay child support for a baby he doesnt want? If she has the right to "disown" the baby, then so should the man.
II_Seraphim_II
My guess would be it has more to do with the right related to what happens to your own body than economics. That's just a guess though, I have no idea what the judges deciding on Roe vs. Wade actually believed.

Thats because you are only looking at one side of the equation. Some men really do want children, and it completely guts them when a woman gets an abortion. She gets the option rectify a mistake, why shouldnt men be offered the same oppurtunity.
"Well dont sleep around then!"
Same can be said for women. She chose to raise the baby. If she wasnt ready for it, she could have just gotten an "inexpensive" abortion, but evidently she felt she was ready for it and thus should take full responsibility. I could understand making the man chip in for the abortion, but not child support. If a woman doesnt want the baby she gets and abortion, what if the man doesnt want the baby? what can he do? We want equality. You cant say on one hand the woman has the right to decide whether or not she has a baby, but the man, who has equal emotional attachment or more to the child, doesnt get a say.
It's his child too. It's his child when he has to pay for child support even though he did not want the child. DeeJayInphinity
Good point, this is why I suspect it has more to do with the right to decide what happens to your body than economics or parental rights.

I can understand the body but if that is the case, child support should be an option for the father and not mandatory.Thats because you are only looking at one side of the equation. But you already can sign away all parental rights. I just don't know if that's an option against child support in all cases.

Its not, well atleast not in the US. Unless the child is being adopted, you still have to pay child support even if u never wanted the child. So its like the government is telling you "Yeah, you arent a parent anymore, you just have to pay all the parental bills and stuff" :|
