buying a new pair of shoes when you have 3000 pair or a new game when you have 500? And why?

New shoes, because theres a bigger chance that you're buying them simply to impress others. Games are often just bought for personal enjoyment.Mumbles527
I respect you sir! You proved my point....
I'd say they're both completely shallow. If you have that kind of money to spend, and you're buying things like shoes or video games instead of funding cancer research, you might as well change your name to Paris Hilton and be done with it.fordprefect294
If you had to choose between one I mean... Come on! if you were put in that situation what would you do?
Shoes, because you only need 1 pair. its a scientific factWitchsight
If that's the case, video games are more shallow, because you don't "need" any.

But each game gives you a minimum of 10 cool points. And do you really want to live a life with no cool points?

Wouldn't that be the definition of shallow? Just buying something to look cooler?
Neither of them are shallow. Shallow is an ambiguous term that differs greatly depeneding on what cultural upbringing you were apart of.

That's not true. You may not buy games to impress other people, but I know people who buy as much stuff as they can to impress anyone. For them.. that is enjoyment. SO if you buy a game for enjoyment.. its the same as someone just buying it to impress others with. Because they also enjoy it.
I put games but i thought it said less shallow, getting shoes is OK but with that amount of pairs you probably won't evan wear them, getting more games is also quite shallow but then games are allways getting better whilst shows just change between diffrent styles such as hight of heel so you may have a pair that looks just the same already, but with games old versions wouldn't have the capabilities of modern games beacause it was physically impossible.
the impressing others is also a good argument but looking better (or at least thinking you do) can give you a confidence boost so it sort of could give you some sort of enjoyment.
New shoes.
Games are meant to entertain, and each one is different from the other, different stories, different gameplay, ETC.
Shoes are meant solely to protect your feet. Short of a couple pair for different functions (Running shoes, regular tennis shoes, sandals, dress shoes), there's not reason to have a ton of shoes.
well to me the more "shallow" is shoes....both are pretty shallow purchases as they're both bought for personal enjoyment and satisfaction...johnnyv2003
arent we allowed to have fun? almost every commercial product is designed to either amuse us or to make our lives simpler so we have more time to amuse ourselves......
but yeah i voted shoes....
I've always viewed putting such an expensive important on outwardly appearnce as shallow. There's absolutely no reason to buy 3000 dollar pair of shoes, because they're .... well, shoes. When you spend a lot of money buying video games, that's different. Video games do something. They entertain you. They're a hobby. And you know, I wouldn't even pay 150 dollars for a pair of shoes. I just don't see myself spending that much money on clothes. I had a friend who bought some L.A. Lights when they first came out, and the very next day, he stepped in a sinkhole, and muddied up the entire shoe. I could only laugh at him...
