Which one would you rather be in Pacific or Eastern? and why?

Well, I think nobody didn't want ww2 happen and it did. You think the guys who fought said that? How about neither :|

Neither one was really safer than the other. Both theaters had massive casualties and very bloody battles.
Eastern, on the side of the Russians to be specific.
Sure, the fighting would be hell, but if you survive, you get rewarded with one of the wildest parties in the history of partydom, complete with the consumption of all the vodka in Russia.
............ Ok no.. You guys seriously need to read up the theater of the Pacific.. It was some of the worse and bloodiest battles of the entire war.... sSubZerOoI chose the Pacific (on the US side) because the US valued the lives of their troops. Russia, Japan, and Germany didn't care about the human costs and only cared about winning.

:| Your logic is flawless.. You include Russia and Germany in the equation suggesitng you had the choice who you fight for.. But then you don't include Japan in the Pacific theater. The only real military battles where the force only surrendered when the last man was dead/killed.... The Pacific arena was the bloodiest and most brutal battles of the entire war..
Eastern front by far. The battles were slightly less bloody, and the armies were at least somewhat humane to each other (regarding prisoners and such).
None, but if I had to, the Pacific, because the scenery is better than that cold, greyish and dull Eastern theatre.

I don't get this logic. It took a lot more time and effort to end the war in Europe than it did in Japan. You say the pacific was much bloodier, but I've read about many of the battles in the Pacific being totally one sided.the one where I don't have to fight, but could make beer for the troops. I am patriot, what can I say. Perhaps the most patriotic. Just not enough to go to war :P
Pacific war was hell on earth. No quarter was given by either side and bodies were mutilated (yes, by US troops as often as Japanese ones). The only front that even came close to being as bad as the pacific was in Russia, especially for German soldiers after the tide of war turned.

I hope you are talking about the french/italian/north African campaigns and not the actual eastern front :?
Oh I never specified which theater i would fight in- probably the Italian campaign, where my uncle (who was nisei JapaneseI might add) fought andrecieved a purple heart.

Nah, thats the 163. The 262 never got to the runway due to engine failures :P World's first jet fighter, eh?............ Ok no.. You guys seriously need to read up the theater of the Pacific.. European front. Cause I'm brave, tough and can handle brutality. 8)
stevoqwerty
The Pacific is way more brutal than European front. The Japs are crazy, once you're captured, you'll beg to die.
LOL. Hope your joking i seriously am. Do you have any idea how Germans treated the Russians? Any idea..?They tossed babies into fire and boiling hot water, and massarced entire villages just because they look on Slavs as SUB Human.
Obviously I wouldn't get to be in either and would probably be stuck in some munitions factory in Birmingham somewhere becoming a good friend of American soldiers. But I'd have at least tried to join the ATA or WASP.
Yes, I agree with this. The other advantage is the pacific theatre wasn't as long.I'd rather be an American figthing the Germans; far less brutal. The Russian/German theater was some of the most brutal fighting ever known to man, and the Pacific was close behind it.

LMAO :D that's exactly what i was thinking. If i had to choose.
It would be the US in the European theater. Seriously aside from some really tough battles, the US had a pretty easy fight on it's hand.
It would be that or join the Desert Rats fighting the Germans on North Africa, the Battle of Al Alamain comes to mind.
Most dangerous part of the European theater was the Germans fighting the Russians. Seriously read up on it, pretty nightmarish conditions and battles that were fought. Not to mention if you were on the Soviet side and so much as kinda smiled at a Stalin joke you would of probably gotten a bullet to the back of the head.

U.S and British pilots were instructed not to let the ME 262s take off because they didnt stood a chance against them with Spitfires MKIIs or P51 mustangs and one ME262 alone was enough to slaughter an entire B17 squadron with the four 30mm mks they carried.

The only problem was reliability issues. These jet fighters were like the tiger tanks of the sky- they were very intimidating, were armed and armored extremely well, but were way too complicated.
