One thing I don't understand is that people are claiming he's a Muslim as if it's a big deal even though he is not, what does it matter?braindead_herowell seeing as how there is this huge stereotype after 911 that all muslims are terrorists, i guess having a supposibly "muslim" president would be a bad thing

I have a best friend who's Muslim and hes great.
I would be voting for Ron Paul if he was still in the race. Im not too fond of either Obama or McCain.plague32390
You know you can still just write him in when you vote, right? That's what I'm going to do, as I too don't like either candidate much.

They are muslims who came to US who were hinted to be part of the Taliban and then sent straight to the guantanamo prison and couldn't leave unless they confess they were part of the Taliban. They are beaten and tortured in the prison and some of them as young as 15 years old.
I see what you did there  I agree.[QUOTE="DFan17902"]George SearsMatt-4542
Anyways, I'd rather have Obama but either way I think we're in for another bad 4 years.
No matter who is president the next 4 years wont be the greatest. One of this biggest problems is that we people allow Congress and the President to have power and only complain about it.

Yeah seriously. It really ticks me off when people stereotype them. I also have a Muslim friend and she's one of the nicest people.

I was a muslim, but now am an atheist and proud of it.:D
Edit: No religion thread please.
I'm in favor of Barack Obama. However I'm still unsure if I'm going to vote or not this November. Since summer began Obama has been moving too much to the center of the political spectrum for my liking. I might end up voting for him just because I don't want to see McCain get elected. But sadly, I don't think Obama will win, I don't think Americans have come far enough to elect a black man president. I know a lot of people(here in the Midwest), that won't vote for him just because he is black. That's a real shame, I thought we had come farther than this as a nation.ElectronicMagicNo, what do you think this is, a progressive nation?
