Nice to see another lovecraft, and burgess fan. What is your favorite Burgess book? Most people only know A clockwork orange, but I think Earthly Powers is his best book by far. Lovecraft also is a underrated writer i think, i heard Guilermo del toro was making a film out of his sort story at the mountains of madness but I think making The Hobbit is more important to him right now.

Yeah, I met him at a Dirty Job signing...Weird but cool guy. It's kind of a shame that none of his books have been made into movies, though...Some of them have great potential for the screen.

Heck all of his books are worth reading, but these are the ones I have read that I like the most.

The Doctor is sick

Earthly powers

Honey For the bears

A tremor of intent

The Wanting seed

Nothing like the sun

The Pianoplayers.

Will look into those. I much enjoyed A Clockwork Orange, but struggled to get through it (mostly due to the Droogish phrases)

I havent read many books to be honest and I hate it cause people of my major are supposed to read a lot of books (or more than I have at least).

Anyway, I like The Lord of the Rings very much as books, so J. R. R. Tolkien for me.

Since I've only recently started to read big boy books :P My two favourites are Darren Shan and Stephen King. Darren writes stories fixed to teenagers, so I could easilly read it. The 1 and a half books (still reading one) I've read from King shows how talented the man is at writing.

Micheal Crichton: He just holds a special place in my heart, his books kind of got me into reading.

Daniel Keyes: Granted, I only read one book by him, Flowers For Algernon. But that book effected me emotionally more than any book I've ever read.

If you like Lovecraft then you should give Machen and Dunsany a good once over. Blackwood also have very Lovecraftian sound to him, though I'd say it was the reverse with Lovecraft being influenced by the three I just named.
