I've been listening to a lot of stand-ups lately cuz I've been wanting some good laughs, and it got me thinking what other people consider their favorite comedians... I know there's a lot of teenagers here which makes me curious what younger people think about comedy (whether they like older comedians like Lenny Bruce or contemporary ones like Demetri Martin) compared to the older folks. My #1 will probably always be George Carlin, but other than that, I can't decide at the moment. I'll come up with a complete list eventually.

What about you? :)

1. george carlin

2. bill maher

3. john stewart

4. lewis black

5. dana carvey.

EDIT: i tried lenny bruce out, knowing his popularity / influence and how he was george carlin's #1 influence. but i could not get into him. his material feels very dated and thus not relevant, and thus not funny to me. but i can easily tell how, for his time he was amazing and something completely new / different / fresh.

Nothing beats Bill Hicks for me. Oh how I wish he was here today.

For the record I'm 17 if it interests the O.P.
