Joke? No? Didn't think so...
Since I live in NYC...I know quite a bit, but not alot worth mentioning. Let's see...it's dirty, people hate you, it's scary going out alone at night...in some places. There are fastfood restaurants on every single corner. The traffic never stops. And....you could hear the sirens every 5 mins.

You can never really tell if they're gunshots though...there is so much noise...it could really be anything. I once had a murderinvestigation in the house across from mine.

where you live now? anyways, i used to live in new york like 5 years ago, and if you dont mess with the gangs, you r going to be ok... i used to walk alone late at night ( when i was goingo to the library) and i never had any problems. As i said before if you mess with gangs you might survive hehebig_boss4life
Where did you live? There are some places...well...not meant for us normal people. Since Brooklyn is only half bad...I have it pretty good..but don't venture out of Brooklyn at night...unless with a friend.
Brooklyn, Bay Ridge...I guess you are in a bit more...interesting place. a55assin
hehehehe, i had friends that got beat up by gangs, never happend to me tho, i was a smart kid :)

cool, what race are you?
there was always fights at my school, some dude got so beat up he went to the hospital and never see him again :(being from LA i can give you some good tips, be sure you make trips to compton and always were your best either blue or red colored clothes is recommended. when you go to hollywood visit the walk of stars and if you want to meet a certain celebrity stand on thier star and they will be automatically beeped to come meet you. dont forget to visit your local crack dealers and pimps to get the best experience possible. KurupSoldrtruly the opposite of what it really is :P
new york is wonderful. i was born and raised in brooklyn and i've lived in the village for the last few years. since i can't formulate rational, gramatically correct sentences that express my love (and, although very rarely, hate) for new york adequately, i'm going to write a stream-of-consciousness poem.
wonderful people/from everywere in the world/strange people/no ordinary people/talented people/interesting people
awful people come to new york to live trendy/to shop/to douchy clubs/to materialism/yuppie scum
big city/many cities in one city/dirty city/sexy city
new york never stops amazing me. brooklyn and queens are like suburbs to manhattan and they could be their own, self sufficient cities. they each are larger and have more culture than most other cities in the united states.

Brownsville is a no no.
NYC and LA are two seperate worlds...
I live in NYC, its loud, dirty, industrial, gunshots, sirens, people screaming when your trying to go to sleep, driving is like a video game your doging crazy ass cab drivers, fast food everywhere, broadway, its tourist central, never a dull moment, partying in apartments can be annoying
LA - is a ghost town, theres a center of big buildings and everyone lives on the outskirts of these buildings, it is like the country compared to NYC

Downtown LA is growing though. Tons of residential buildings opened up downtown, it finally got its first supermarket in decades, several new restaurants opened up as well as night clubs, and the billion dollar initiative to beef up downtown is still ongoing (LA Live, Nokia Theater, more residentials, etc). Of course there's plenty to do outside of DTLA proper; WeHo, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Griffith Park, and Pasadena to name a few.
I agree with everything you saidnew york is wonderful. i was born and raised in brooklyn and i've lived in the village for the last few years. since i can't formulate rational, gramatically correct sentences that express my love (and, although very rarely, hate) for new york adequately, i'm going to write a stream-of-consciousness poem.
