Who did you grow up with? Mario Or Sonic?

Personally I grew up with Mario most of my childhood, but when I was around 5-8 I was very interested in Sonic. What about you?

Mario... Mario Party to be specific.

Both. The NES was my first system and the Genesis was my second. I spent a ton of time on both Super Mario Bros. and Sonic 2.

Mario. I have had pretty much every nintendo system other than the virtua boy. I bet alot of the kids on here didn't start gaming until the Playstation or PS2.

I grew up with Link acutally on the N64. I also had lots of exposure to Mario and Sonic though.

Both of them + countless DOS games.

Other:

Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon.

Mario mostly. My first system was the SNES, then after that was the N64. I didn't start getting into sonic until Sonic Adventure, and then Sonic games got bad after that.

Heh, I remember Virtua Boy. Damn thing gave me a headache every time I played.

The first game I remember playing is Bonk's Revenge.

Oh I almost forgot.

I did use to have a console which had the Mario game. I liked that one a lot too.

Certainly a lot of memories from there too.

Even though I didn't grow up in the Sonic and Mario era, I still grew up with Sonic through the GameGear.

Mario had much more of an influence on my from a young age. I actually wasn't really exposed to Sonic until my pre-teens/early teens, and even then, I spent much more time with Mario games during that period as well.

I grew up with Sonic (Genesis years), he's still my fav today but I have respect for Mario as well.

I actually grew up with the original prince of persia games. Those were amazing :P

But outta those two...Mario.

Definitely Sonic. I had all the sonic games, movies, comics, toys, bed sheets, even stuffed animals all the way up through to the Dreamcast when Sonic turned to crap. I did have an SNES for awhile too and loved Super Mario World but my cat chewed up the wires and that was that.

(old school) Sonic is my boy. I still can't play Mario games without cringing somewhat.

A little bit of both, but mainly Mario.

I say Sonic even though my Sega Genesis was not my first console. My brother had an NES, but I do not remember playing it much. We never had a SNES.

Over the years I have had an NES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Gamegear, Playstation, PS2, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, PSP, Xbox, and Xbox 360.

Before I got into videogames, I watched both Sonic and Mario cartoons. But the first game of theirs that I played would be one of mario's.

Both, but I've always preferred Sonic.

Sonic 2 was actually the first game I ever owned. I'd say both but more so Sonic. I really hope they can make another Sonic masterpiece someday. :(
