John Dolmayan is the best drummer in music today, with Christoph Schneider in a close second. Of all time? Keith Moon and Neil Peart come to mind...

I'm always gonna be a Dave Grohl fanboy (Nirvana, Tenacious D, a single Queens of the Stone Age album, and occasionally drums on Foo Fighters tracks like Everlong or their entire first CD)

I'm with you on that. The state of the mainstream music industry is simply pathetic these days. There are a few great bands here and there these days, but it seems to me like I have to search longer and harder to find them.

I'd say Led Zeppelin, but I suppose there are only four of them. Regardless, I don't think it's possible to find a band with any better all-around talent. Not many singers better than Plant, not many bassists better than Jones, not many drummers better than Bonham, not many guitarists better than Page.

I think The Eagles are also one of the most musically talented bands of all time.

Deep Purple is a pretty all around talented band. Black Sabbath too. Those are the only ones i can think of.

If I'm going old-school, then I can think of four drummers, three already mentioned: Peart, Bonham, Moon. The other is Ginger Baker who played for Cream. He had a track with Blind Faith with a solo that destroyed almost all other solos I've heard.

Right now my favorite is Grohl. i don't know if he's the best, but he's my favorite.

Agreed. Travis Barker is a phenomenal drummer, I think he is overlooked because of the bands he has drummed for. I also think Danny Carey is awesome even though I'm not a huge tool fan. And got to agree with Neil Peart also even though, again, I'm not a big Rush fan, but you can't deny the musicanship in that band.
