Dragonball Z was the best anime out there back in it's time? If you don't think so tell which one you think was the best. But, Dragonball Z stillowns all anime!

Can someone please tell me what the appeal is all about when one cheezy sweaty looking *** animated character charges at another sweaty looking weird *** animated character with massive eyes, and it takes them 10 minutes to finally meet up, and then one of them busts a nut in the other, and then the next episode is some time later in the week?

I used to love that show when I was a kid. How it held my attention for so long is mystery to me. Two-thirds of the show is just heavy breathing and incredulous inner monologue.luccaface

Gosh all the way back to the late 90s eh? Sarcasm aside, I was not a young boy then so that may be why I, nor did anybody I know, find Dragonball Z to be a good show at all so I would have to disagree with you as far as it being a great show for its day. But if you liked it that's all that really mattered.

As far as my personal tastes I guess around that time I was watching tapes from Japan of Cowboy Bebop a lot which has remained one of my all-time favorites. It's a little fuzzy though as I've been watching anime for many, many years and I don't really attach specific time periods to it until a larger portion of time has elapsed like say...the obvious signs of anime from the 80s like Iczer, Bubblgum, et al.
