Not me. I think it had some good hits but no it wasn't the best time period for music, not even close.
[QUOTE="johnny"]Agreed :DGot to disagree with that.....Best song from the 80's

It is too hard to pick a best period (but I can say since 2000, music has sucked).
But as far as "hype" and "energy" go, the 80's win. Nothing could touch it. People "blew up" like no one can ever do these days (and sold amounts of cd's that can't really be beat).
Moments like Michael Jackson first doing the Moonwalk at the Motown 25th anniversary special and EVRYONE talking about it the next day.
Prince performing at the Grammy's and the whole audience (including the other stars) screaming like 12 year old schoolgirls.
The arrival of Whitney and Janet. Don't even have to say their last names and you know who I mean.
Bruce Springsteen had a great decade. Great albums (and Grammy wins) by artists that had been around a while in groups but went solo, like Phil Collins, Steve Winwood, etc.
The arrival of Madonna. Then Cyndi Lauper, who fell of a while but is still here. The arrival of Babyface (who went on to write or produce much of what was good in the 90's).
Today, artists (and the music they create) are throw-away. None is remebered for more than a few albums, and most are not significantly influencing the next generation; At least not musically.
Depends. 80s were great for heavy, glam, and thrash metal, not much else. 70s were much better for classic rock. 90s were better for extreme metal, etc. etc.
